Re: Gallagher Premiership Rugby?
I think Sale will be there or thereabouts they were last season, no better. However, if Gloucester get their act together they’ll easily be pushing for a top 4 spot.
Re: Gallagher Premiership Rugby?
Sale only looked good against teams around them last season. Their good run coincided with them playing all those teams in a block. When they played the top 6 teams in the last 6 games, they lost all of them. There'll be no major threat to the top 4.Rugbyflanker wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 10:18 pm Gloc and Sale 9th and 10th? Bold choices Ellis, fair play
Gloucester will do as they usually do. They'll have high hopes at the start of the season but their inconsistencies over the season will see them be nowhere near the top 4.

What are you looking for from us next season?

I’m going to Cardiff but I can’t go to the LI game as I’m at a festival .

Re: Gallagher Premiership Rugby?
I’m predicting Newcastle, Wasps and Exeter to drop, I’m being very bold with Gloucester to finish top 2, I don’t think we will see considerable improvement from neither Quins or Saints this season but I do think Bristol will stay up I’m a big fan of Pat Lam and their squad is good to be honest.

The same as every season. To finish as Champions.
From a performance point of view, I'd like us to go back to being forward dominated. Over power opponents forwards, get into their half and then play rugby from there.
When 3 points are on offer, take them. Build a lead and then go for the jugular.

Wasps to have serious problems off the pitch that have repercussions on it. Bristol to have a good season. We start slow, but following further developments at the club we surge into the top 4.

Wow Wasps 12th is a bold choice! Even if they have off field problems, I think the quality players they have would see them finish higher than 12th. However, if they did get relegated, I wouldn't stop laughing for months! It would be what they deserve after the way they shafted their fans! I hope you're right!jgriffin wrote: ↑Sat Jul 07, 2018 10:58 am 1 Saracens

Re: Gallagher Premiership Rugby?
I'm don't think it will be any off season reason why Wasps will struggle.
Dai IMO hasn't developed a plan B yet with wasps, and alot of their best rugby was down to Cips (Hence the big losing run when he was injured last year) Sopoaga just doesn't have the same style as cips.
The tight 5 outside of Launchbury and Taylor (If he can stay fit) is pretty average, when you sign Brookes as someone to help your scrum then you are really stuggling and the coaching set-up is pretty odd now Wilson has left.
DOR - Dai
Forwards - Titterrell
Defence - Costello
Backs - Beckett

Re: Gallagher Premiership Rugby?
Wasps squad is looking weaker than it was last season. Plus their depth signings have been pretty poor from the championship. Will be interesting to see how they do!

Re: Gallagher Premiership Rugby?
I'm looking for a big improvement in the lineout and execution of basic skills!

You should agree with me more often. You'll find that you're right a lot more!JP14 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 07, 2018 12:42 pmHey, for once I agree with youellis9 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 07, 2018 10:56 amThe same as every season. To finish as Champions.

Re: Gallagher Premiership Rugby?
Bit of a cop-out here! Rather than selecting 1 to 12, I've found it easier to do 'top 4', 'bottom 4' and (by a process of elimination) 'middle 4'. So - alphabetically:
Top 4 - Exeter Gloucester Sarries Tigers
Middle 4 - Bath Newcastle Sale Wasps
Bottom 4 - Bristol Harlequins Saints Worcester
I reckon Chiefs will finish top with us second - and I think Quins might just escape the drop at the expense of Wuss.

Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO
