Sean O’Brien to London Irish doing the rounds. With his injury record not a great shout for Irish in my mind.

Irish appear to be taking the view that they will have to overpay to get good forwards in so they are looking at securing quality first and foremost without worrying about price as much as clubs who are close to the cap already.

They'd have to overpay massively for SOB, same as they have for Mafi, but they need quality in the forwards to compete once they come up.

Ok - RugbyInsideLine is (I think) a Saints supporter who frequently spreads unsubstantiated gossip. I largely ignore his tweets, particularly ones like this which he posted this evening...

"Ok...

I’ve heard a contract already signed may have fallen apart.

This could be very very exciting..."

He claims it's something which has already been announced but the player is backing out. No mention of Tigers. On the basis that a stopped clock etc etc etc.....

He'll get paid a fortune if he moves there.

O'Brien had a great game for Ireland today. His work rate was phenomenal.

He's a very good player. If fit and in form then one of the best in Europe. The fit bit has been the problem for him, he's had a lot of injuries and he'll be 32 next week. He's not getting any younger. I think it's considered a sensible move over in Ireland. Cash in on the last couple of years of his career.

TRP have Quins ready to announce a raft of new signings, including Michele Campagnaro, Santiago García Botta, Martín Landajo, Brett Heron, Scott Baldwin and RG Snyman... no mention of Will Evans?

Leaves just Lood De Jager and Pieter Steph Du Toit as top draw SA locks that might be available

Considering Quins are bouncing off the salary cap just how many are they releasing if that's the incoming?

Last I heard nearly 16 leavers.

Yikes. Gustard putting his stamp on the squad. Presume Catrikilis will be one, the young prop Boyce is already announced as off. Wouldn't be surprised to see either Saili or Horwill go as well.

It would be crazy to let Horwill go imo, they miss him terribly when he's out.

Agreed. How often is he out though. Not getting any younger at 33 (34 by the start of next season).
