Wasted at international level by Lancaster (umm when have we heard that before ), sad but inevitable day in my opinion.strawclearer wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 6:37 pm Saracens and England winger David Strettle will retire from professional rugby at the end of the current season following a 17-year career.

D'Arcy has been retired a while now - you sure you don't mean Ringrose?

D'Arcy was replaced at 12 by the signing of Henshaw. Ringrose is the young 13 that's come through.longlivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 5:00 amD'Arcy has been retired a while now - you sure you don't mean Ringtone?

Yep. Reid has been at Leinster since he was a baby. He was originally behind D'Arcy, then later behind Henshaw.longlivethecrumbie wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 5:00 amD'Arcy has been retired a while now - you sure you don't mean Ringrose?

I'd take Lavinini over him anyway. LDJ is the weakest of the intl Bok locks imo

Tigers was never really in the hunt for him, was signed up long ago.

Outstanding signing by Sale. Lood de Jager should suit the Prem well given he's physical and excellent at set-piece. There aren't many 6'9" 20 stone lineout locks floating around.
I'd say that Etzebeth, Mostert, Snyman and de Jager are all on a very similar level. All with different strengths and weaknesses. Ludicrous depth for the Boks when you consider that Pieter-Steph du Toit is a lock they shifted to blindside.
Had a lock demanding the salary of Lood de Jager come in then we likely wouldn't have seen Taufua and a number 8 (sounds like Liebenberg) added as well. I'd love to see de Jager in a Tigers shirt but I think that improving quality across the whole squad is a better way to go currently.

I agree they all have different qualities but afaicr in a head to head duel it's always been Etzebeth who has come out in front,at times I would even say Eben has bullied him. Not sour grapes either, just an observation.

6'-9", that's massive! How tall is Green, i think he's a lot shorter than that and I guess will struggle if up against him!ABClub wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 3:56 pm Outstanding signing by Sale. It's not all about height,it's how quick the player can get up as well as lifters and hookers throw. It certainly helps though!

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2018-19
Height is useless for a lock unless you have spring!

Same size as the Aussie at Saracens who’s name escapes me.
Agree that Lavanini isn’t that far behind and is a world class line out operator, and if that has allowed us to finance Taufua and Liebenberg too so much the better
