Just watching the RC and heard Sale have released Faf for the whole Championship. I thought someone posted on here that you're not allowed to and risk a massive fine and that's why Toomua was going back and forth. Does anyone know the full SP?

It's the rest weekends. They don't technically count as international windows. Hence why Tigers have stated that Toomua and TPN will be available during those weekends. We might not pick them or even ask them to fly back but by stating that publicly it reduces the risk of accusation.

I presume they mean that Faf will play all the games and not head back to the AP early.

He's there for the whole RC apparently so that means for rest weekends too. So Sale are effectively sticking two fingers up then and accepting their fate?

Diamond praises Ben Youngs as a game changer. It's a shame some of Tigers own fans don't say the same.

& that is precisely what we should be doing, the RPA should back the clubs is they state player welfare. It is nothing to doing with Premier Rugby who teams pick & release etc, Saints & Bath should of stop up & been counted before.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

Steve Mafi who was on the bench for Castres in last season's Top14 final, is again on the bench for the opening match against Montpellier later today.

Might be more to do with keeping Faf happy. He's their star player and rumours are had a lot to do with getting RJVR to Sale as well.

In terms of player welfare just wait and see what Tigers do.

The PRL are protecting the agreement with the RFU. The RFU pay for player release outside of international windows so they can have training camps. That won't continue if other countries enjoy access to players for free. Hence the slightly laughable fine system.

They'll be hoping Lima Sappoanga is match fit and ready to go then. If he hasn't arrived yet it might be a tough start to the season.

Sappoanga will need rest periods. No matter how talented or fit it would be pushing it to expect him to play every game. So with Gopperth out they are going to be a bit exposed at fly half. Injury dispensation signing? Perhaps we could send them Joe Ford on loan.
