Re: Tour to SA
That's huge loss for the Springboks in my opinion, I don't know about Bismarck du Plessis but Strauss is playing well for a resurgent Bulls side. Also I believe that Bongi Mbonambi is also injured as well

Re: Tour to SA
I think this will be the Springboks matchday squad:
1 Beast (Sharks)
2 BDP (Montpellier)
3 W.Louw (Stormers)
4 de Jager (Bulls)
5 Mostert (Lions)
6 Kolisi (c) (Stormers)
7 du Toit (Stormers)
8 Vermulean (Toulon)
9 de Klerk (Sale)
10 Pollard (Bulls)
11 Tambe (Lions)
12 vans Rensburg (Lions)
13 Kriel (Bulls)
14 Gelant (Bulls)
15 Bosch (Sharks)
16 Strauss (Bulls)
17 Kitshoff (Stormers)
18 Trevor Nyakane (Bulls)
19 Kwagga Smith (Lions)
20 Either du Preez twin (Sharks)
21 Hourgaard (Worcester)
22 Willemse (Stormers)
23 de Allende (Stormers)
This is a bit harsh on the Cheetahs who's players such as Ox Nché, Mahoje, Cassiem, Venter and Clayton Blommetjies all merit call ups.

Re: Tour to SA
No Etzebeth or Jaco Kriel? Nice 23 though, looking at the performances of the SA SR sides and the relaxing of the player picking England are bang in trouble imo!

Re: Tour to SA
Surely the form players such as Willis, Robson, Cipriani, Trinder and Woodward all have to be picked in the touring squad.
We need some players picked on ability, not reputation. Hopefully we won’t be disappointed tomorrow.

Re: Tour to SA
I’m pretty certain that Willis, Trinder and Woodward are definitely in for a shout, however I keep having to reiterate that Cipriani’s international ship has sailed and we should be looking to develop the likes of Marcus Smith and Joe Simmonds insteadLeicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 7:05 pm Surely the form players such as Willis, Robson, Cipriani, Trinder and Woodward all have to be picked in the touring squad.

Re: Tour to SA
Wasps fly-half Danny Cipriani has been included in a 34-man England squad for the tour of South Africa in June.
Owen Farrell has been named captain with hooker Dylan Hartley unavailable.
There are seven uncapped players in Eddie Jones' squad including Sale back Cameron Redpath, Wasps flanker Jack Willis and New Zealand-born flanker Brad Shields.

Re: Tour to SA
Feel Trinder and Woodward should have been picked, especially over the likes of Earle and Redpath who have done nothing to warrant selection.

Re: Tour to SA
so glad cole gets a full preseason for the first time in how long?
Re: Tour to SA
Woodwards in the training squad for Brighton, so I assume that he’ll be adding some players before they go, especially in the backs and as mentioned 2 of those are Earles and Redpath(who i don’t think ive ever seen play) also I think O’Conner is hard done by to not even be in the training squad he’s been the form 7 these last few months.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Thu May 10, 2018 9:19 am Feel Trinder and Woodward should have been picked, especially over the likes of Earle and Redpath who have done nothing to warrant selection.

Wonder if this signals the (start of the) end of Cole's England career?RagingBull wrote: ↑Thu May 10, 2018 9:25 am so glad cole gets a full preseason for the first time in how long?
Re: Tour to SA
I think he'll definitely be back for the autumn. Williams isn't the finished article by any means, and Sinckler seems to only be about 15 minutes away from a ban whenever he plays (plus I'm not convinced by his scrummaging, and it's pretty clear that him and Marler didn't provide the platform you'd expect, and Marler definitely isn't international quality)

Re: Tour to SA
Not massively impressed TBH, Woodward, BOC, Trinder, Armand plus possibly others...but EJ seems fixated on certain players and blind to others IMO.
I can see some of the choices, but ....... cup-tying Shields must be his wish, so the NZ moan is just that.
