Why Nathan Hughes will never be as good as Billy Vinipola ...

Painter and Heyes might be fast-tracked though.

Re: Tour to SA
That would be even worse IMO, Heyes especially is not ready to face international level scrums
Re: Tour to SA
Wow. What was that from Ben Young’s post game?

Contractual obligation to give the media a few words....
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.
Re: Tour to SA
Not a good look just running off though. Thought he was better than that - as Greenwood said, you’ve got to front up.WhitecapTiger wrote: ↑Sat Jun 16, 2018 6:11 pmContractual obligation to give the media a few words....

Re: Tour to SA
Agreed, poor show from Ben Young’s at the end. Pretty awful show from the England team after 20 minutes ... again.
May about the only player that has shown anything on this tour - poor all round.
Mako needs to be dropped next week - needs to learn to stop giving away stupid penalties.
Hoping Genge is fit for next weekend and given a run-out. Need someone with some go forward in the team.

One question asked, he said "We're really disappointed. We're gutted to lose the series and we'll work hard this week to put it right next week. thank You Very Much” and basically ran away.
Re: Tour to SA
Fair play to him, seems he’s now apologised to the pitchside reporter.

Re: Tour to SA
I get that and agree but maybe the media could have let the moment, and result, settle a bit before sticking the microphone under a player's nose.biffer wrote: ↑Sat Jun 16, 2018 6:13 pmNot a good look just running off though. He is better than that, but he is also human, let's not be quick to condemn, i'm sure once things settle down he'll realise it didn't look good and make amends, maybe an apology to supporters at home (probably plenty offended on behalf of others) or in the stadium.
No doubt the players get media training, do the media get 'player empathy' training.
Not excusing it, just trying to balance.

Re: Tour to SA
If you're emotionally involved in the game and have just lost you probably don't want a microphone shoved in your face.
Re: Tour to SA
Whilst I can understand that Ben is upset that interview was just stupid, its the sort of thing the tabloids are gonna run with and in the current environment I wouldn't be surprised to see him sent home if the media kicks up too much of a fuss
Re: Tour to SA
Maybe Young’s wanted to leave before he said something that he would have regretted?
