I like the ‘thinking outside the envelope’ approach...but I think it’s probably 7-8 years too late for him to switch positions! Still, welcome to the forum...and don’t let the occasional grumpiness put you off.tripeandonions wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 4:27 pm Could Adam Thompstone convert to a 7?

Tigers also have a good first choice openside, a good second choice openside with the potential to be an excellent player and then a development openside with equally big potential. If MOC actually backs the second and third choice players this season instead of playing an 8 there we could be well stocked for a few years.chris111 wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 6:48 pmI like the ‘thinking outside the envelope’ approach...but I think it’s probably 7-8 years too late for him to switch positions! While they are at it how about putting a rampant Genge at 8?sam16111986 wrote: ↑Fri May 18, 2018 8:58 amTigers also have a good first choice openside, a good second choice openside with the potential to be an excellent player and then a development openside with equally big potential. Just seen a re-tweet from RIL saying that Jonah Holmes is expected to follow Dominic Ryan to Worcester....

Not a chance Holmes is going. Loads of press releases last week saying how he would be in the XV next season and he was looking forwards to being with Tigers next season etc etc
https://www.leicestertigers.com/news/ho ... nd-running
Doesn’t seem like someone who is leaving.
Would be insane to get rid off him. But we all know RIL is a wind up merchant, especially when it comes to Tigers.

Even I know that the BOD and MoC wouldn't be dumb enough to get rid of Holmes!

The guy now saying he thinks it might be a loan deal.
Which is even more confusing.

It wasn't a Rugby Inside Line tweet though. It was Rugby Gold, whoever they are.Leicestertinytiger wrote: ↑Fri May 18, 2018 1:56 pm Not a chance Holmes is going. Just throwing a pebble in the pond really. Thinking that if a winger is no longer first choice then his worth to a club becomes much diminished unless he's got other options to offer. Slightly surprising that Thompstone hasn't ever played at centre for example except in emergency. With his skillset and experience it would be shame for him to fade out the picture or move elsewhere. Mat Tait for example has shown how having several strings on his bow has kept him in demand.chris111 wrote: ↑Thu May 17, 2018 6:48 pmI like the ‘thinking outside the envelope’ approach...but I think it’s probably 7-8 years too late for him to switch positions!
