Is fair? No? But is life fair? No?
Now we are getting somewhere. You also don't agree they should be paid that much either.

Because they are not worth it to their businesses simple as that.

No one is forcing the clubs to pay the amount they get paid.
There sort of is. The fans.
If Tigers paid their players £20k a year, look at the standard they would get. Fans aren't happy now.

Now if all clubs paid their players £20k a year, then it wouldn't be a problem.
You know we have a few amateur clubs that might just be up your street.
No, I get the whole professional thing. I've pointed that out many a time on here.

I put my money in to it and accept what it's all about. I'm just saying that really, it's huge money for what they do.

Think about it, who is more worthy of £400k a year?

Still not sure why Logo shouldn't be able to fund a life for himself after rugby though.

What a crazy thread!

Logo is Managing Director of a company of.....one. (We all are, actually)

It's up to him how much he sells his services for - and to whom.

It's up to him whether he chooses to spend everything he earns as soon as he earns it - or whether he puts some aside for re-training for after his rugby career or for his pension.

Errr...............that's it!

No I said why rugby players are paid so much, I didn’t say that they shouldn’t be paid that much. I absolutely have no quarrel with rugby players salaries. Football, on the other hand? 🙄

You never said he couldn't? What???!!! The whole jist of your argument is that rugby players don't deserve to be set for life after they pack up playing!!!

Sometimes I wish the Mods had a parallel universe forum where certain posters could continue their arm wrestling. However I am grateful that comment is not as noxious as it was a few years ago.......

It's market forces.

A player is worth what a club will pay him.

A club's valuation of a player may be different to the players valuation of himself and the valuation of another club.

As a player you weigh up the package ans decide what comes closest to your demands in terms of pay, lifestyle and potential for winning cups or gaining international recognition.

In the end whether we think they are paid too much is irrelevant.
