Some were maybe surprised that he was given a contract extension, through to the end of next season, but I thought he really showed his value to the squad on Saturday.
First premiership game for 4 months and yet he was powerful going forward and as solid as ever in defence.
I’m sure he and Tait will be great mentors for the youngsters coming through

No brainer really.
Every team needs players like Matt.
And yeah it was good to see him get a run out at HQ and play well.

Can’t remember a game where he didn’t give his all. No slouch in attack, great in defence, easily underestimated.

Matt Smith (no further description needed) has been, and is, a valuable member of the Tigers squad. Definitely still worthy of his place.

Always been an admirer, no nonsense, does what it says on the tin kind of guy BUT you absolutely can depend on him.
Nothing less than total commitment. More skill and speed than sometimes given credit for.
2 personal highlights;
carrying Ashton over the line for that hugely impressive score
South West of France pre season friendly and in beautifull flat E Midlands tone - " F----n * work harder "
after a try was conceded.
* to rhyme with " look in "
