They can’t give to everyone is the bottom line, although every request is probably a worthy cause.
Yes they can. It will be a donation/tax write-off or whatever so I'm sure that one of the many tax-bods at Tigers can, if they really wanted to, sort it.
Oh dear oh dear. Incurring a cost does not reduce your tax bill by the amount of the cost. Assuming an expense is allowable it reduces your taxable profit by the amount of the expense and your tax bill by the marginal amount thereof.

I didn't say it was. Having been the occasional recipient of kit/bodies I have been grateful for what or whoever arrived and not whinged when nothing/nobody turned up.

These directly generate cash. Some may argue that giving away freebies does the same but that's a bit more abstruse.

I'd swap the nice shiny new mostly en-suite blocks for some of the falling down rubbish those elsewhere have to put up with any day.
I wasn't replying to you h's dad, it was just my own opinion.
As you rattled my cage though, I'd much rather live in some falling down rubbish on home soil than new blocks so far from home.
It's just a simple request for something home from home.

I appreciate it was your own opinion BFG, as is your preference on where you would like to live - I'd like to avoid the falling down rubbish where you get more water pressure through the holes in the ceiling than in the shower block.
As I said, absolutely no problem with a simple request.

In an attempt to bring a touch of home has contacted many sporting clubs to ask for any memorabilia etc to put up in the club, many contacted have come straight back saying they would be delighted to help, Spurs and England football, Sarries, Exeter to name a few, however he received a quick return from Tigers saying no. As he is a life long Tigers fan he has been left feeling sadden. As they share the base with the USN he has even contacted NFL and MLB teams who have said they will being sending packages to them.

I know the club gets dozens of such requests , this just shows me that our club is being run by business people and not rugby fans and everything seems to be about the £.
Personally I'm not surprised by this at all. LFC wouldn't be making any money out of it. It's been clear for some time that they don't give two hoots about the 'fans', except as a source of revenue.
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

Fair enough. :smt023
I actually wouldn't like to live like that really, I'd just rather dodge water than the stuff they might dodge, but I appreciate it's those people who made such a simple request that enable me not to have to live like that!

Club says no.

Outrageous.

To be frank, there are a lot of more worthy causes out there than decorating a bar. I'm also thankful that the club is being run by business people, since it is a business.
I am still completely bemused that people do not realise that professional sports clubs are a business and as such, are run by business people. I too am pleased we have business people running our club.

On the plus side, if it floats Chobbsy jr's boat (fetch coat) he may well be in earshot of this weekend's GP.

But the Champions are on against Gloucs.
Odd, all the talk suggesting good business sense and the profit making club are sending something.

Why not take the initiative - buy a shirt / flag. Take it to the next home game and wait after the game to get it signed?

Just like the many kids do who also want something to hang on their wall at home.

Or pop along to Oval Park at a convenient time and respectfully ask the players there?

There are many ways to get this done without firing an email to the club and expecting it for free.

All I apologise for put this topic up, it not a scrounging mission as many of you seem to think or imply, it was just to point out how rugby ethos / life has changed since becoming a professional sport.

Just for a little insight for those who have never experienced it, when you are away on deployed, be it in a hostile theatre nor not, or like this in a Islamic country were there is next to nowhere for you to socialise locally and were the locals really don't think very much of Westerners, or a nice sunny place, you still miss home, you still miss your wife and children and ANY little reminder of home or normality goes a very long way to making a deployment more bareable so again I apologise.

It doesn't work like that BigChris.
It means everything to be sent from home from the places you love and are missing and it's a morale boost every time you see it.

Eh? I think you're getting mixed up with sunday school, BFG. Still, if it does something to curtail the terminally bored from playing 'let's see how much kit we can needlessly destroy,' I'm all for it.
