Manu passed the ball to Holmes because the narrow in goal area and a defender's presence at Allianz Park would have made it difficult for Manu to change direction and get nearer to the posts and without a specialist kicker we needed to. That lack is also why George Ford comes back into the team when available and also why Joe Ford (or Hardwick) should be on the bench.

Blimey that was a sneaky signing!

What a cock up. I really should check my posts more carefully, I wouldn't want to appear even more ridiculous than I usually do. Thanks for pointing it out!

No, a cock-up is what some other posters do all the time, not you. Mind you, self-flagellation is very suspect these days anyway :smt004

Thats what i thought he’d done, he was looking to hit someone with a swinging forearm in the tackle and hit their shoulder. Instant karma!

As much as I dislike Clark, and I do, I have watched the incident over and over from the BT footage and can't really see that he was 'trying to hit someone with a swinging forearm'. He went in to tackle one of our players with another Sarries player in the defensive line and damaged his arm in the tackle.

If there're are other angles that show this swinging arm intent gone wrong conclusively then fair enough but it simply looks like he was wrapping his arm into the tackle IMHO.

Saracens can confirm Callum Clark will be ruled out for up to 12 weeks with a broken arm.
The 28-year-old back rower damaged his forearm in Sunday’s 20-28 defeat to Leicester Tigers at Allianz Park.

He is the third member of the squad to suffer the injury this season after Billy Vunipola and Will Skelton and adds to the long list of players unavailable to the Men in Black this weekend at Exeter Chiefs.

Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.

Maybe it is me being cynical and looking at the type of player he his, but for me he never looked to get lower than the man to hit them with his should he just swung a straight arm up into there chest with a closed fist, your not going to stop many forwards like that who are running straight at you unless you hurt them, any other player would have got lower and driven through them with their should or if your targeting the ball you go with 2 hands, and the fact that he’d thrown himself into the 2 tackles just before desperatly trying to stop the go forward ball, but like i say maybe im letting his reputation judge what hes doing. Either way its done now and id say thats going to be about the end of his season.
