George Catchpole

Post by doogie »

Apologies if this has already been discussed in previous threads, but can anyone shed light on what has happened to George Catchpole?

He is still listed in the first team squad but according to his online stats, he has played the grand total of 15 games over the previous 3 seasons and I can't remember seeing much (if any of him) at all this season. I know he has had injury problems but at 24, surely he should be pushing for a first team place, unless of course he has a further long term injury.

It just seems to me anyway, that a quick glance at our first team squad (43 listed at present), reveals a lot of players who are not making any impression on the match day 23, even during the Anglo Welsh cup. Surely with things the way they have been recently, that every player should be putting their hand up to try and make an impression in the team?

Last I saw of him I’m pretty sure he had his knee in a brace.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Catchpole moved to a ProD2 club, the last I saw him play was against Wasps in the A League, believe his last competitive fixture was against the Saints last year in the AWC (correct me if wrong)
Formerly of Burbaaage (not Inkleh), now up north at uni

Looks the part, but also seems to have the worse luck.
To win is not as important as playing with style!

I'm sure he has had a lot of injuries and when commentating implied he was not part of MOCs plans

My wife saw him today, he is definitely in a knee brace, down to his ankle.
