Cohen, Glynn, to be sacked?

Post by ellis9 »

2nd January 2017

Richard Cockerill was sacked with Tigers in fifth place in the Premiership and just 15 points off 1st placed Wasps.

On 2nd January 2018, Tigers will be 9th in the Premiership and a massive 22 points off 1st placed Exeter and having lost 6 in a row for the first time since the sixties. With the board already stating that we don't do transitional seasons and the fact our style of rugby has got worse, MOC must surely be under pressure?!

Hopefully! Should never have been employed in the first place, especially after the exhaustive search as Peter Tom put it!

Don't be daft, it will all be Cockers fault. Not the hapless Mauger and Hansen, and MOC turning out exactly as I predicted in May.

MOC failing was an easy prediction if you know your rugby.

Don't be silly there is no way that is going to happen unless the senior players demand it and they all love MOC that is why he came back. After all why else did Tigers employ him when no one else wanted to ?

But who do you get to replace him? Let’s face it, there are not a ready supply of Head Coaches/Directors of Rugby out there. I know Mike Ford is available, but who on here wants him?

Give it to Murphy until the end of the season and spend the next 5 months apologising to and begging Cockerill to come back.

To be honest, a combination of Mike Ford and Stuart Lancaster is looking like an attractive proposition at the moment ... couldn't be worse than where we are :smt022

I'm not a fan of major coaching changes mid-season. Would like to see a forwards coach brought in (and an attack coach, and maybe a defence coach, oh, and a skills coach ...) but would want MOC judged on the season as a whole. We did have a spell where we looked good - if he can get us back to that, he keeps his job. If not ... well as has been pointed out, Cockerill lost his for less.

Get Deano back he'd shake this lethargy out of the club. Need Johnno back to instill big game mentality as we're fragile at present

Cockerill lost his for less? He had been given plenty of time to change things.
MOC needs to be given the season and be judged on that.

He's a good backs coach IMO, just need someone with experience in charge of the forwards and maybe we have to look at giving someone like Plumtree a DOR position to get that quality.

But at the moment with the forwards we have no one can help IMO (The term can't polish a ****) comes to mind at times.

Outside of Stanko and the scrum forwards are bringing nothing.
