Ahhhh, George Chuter he was sure a goddamn good hookerjgriffin wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2017 4:48 pm I once had the dubious pleasure of watching a Tigers move from one wing to the other, flat line finger-tip stuff especially from George Chuter, from my vantage point in the Crumbie. The week after we changed to a veeeerrrrrrry slow circle ball executed by players like 12T while the opposition stood in a line and watched. People forget how poor our back play was at that time, though the forwards were good. Backs coach? You KNOW!!!!

Red card ruled sufficient for Jonny May so he is available to face Exeter Chiefs following two yellow cards against Saracens.
[I managed to type that without making any comment on how totally ridiculous it was for him to have received a red card in the first place! It ought to be treated as a 'Get Out Of Jail' card in case he chins someone in future!]

First one was justifiable but the 2nd yellow wasn't, however it didn't really lose us the game and MOC was right not to complain as he is free anyway

Chiefs forum are “worried” about our scrum, given Coley gave Mako a lesson on Christmas Eve. Let’s hope for torrential rain, wind and some fog.
Just checked....mild, cloudy...no rain

Strange isn't it how May got a red card and a hearing for 2 knock ons but Mako collapses a scrum six times, which could break necks and just about gets a yellow card. Absolutely pathetic!strawclearer wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2017 5:17 pm Red card ruled sufficient for Jonny May so he is available to face Exeter Chiefs following two yellow cards against Saracens.

Re: Tigers v Exeter
Chiefs scrum did creak a little vs Leinster. I think for 50 minutes we could really give them a difficulty there. Unfortunately their bench is likely to be a lot better than ours and it's a big ask for Logo and Cole to play long stints again they both tired noticeably (and understandably) in the last ten minutes last weekend. We need Bateman back to take some of the burden because Traynor and and Baumann aren't going to be able to go toe to toe with Hepburn and Francis.westwinds31 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2017 5:19 pm Chiefs forum are “worried” about our scrum, given Coley gave Mako a lesson on Christmas Eve. Got my fingers crossed our boys can hand out another lesson at the scrum at this weekend.
Re: Tigers v Exeter
I wouldn’t be that worried Ben Moon and Hepburn are much better scrummagers then Makowestwinds31 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2017 5:19 pm Chiefs forum are “worried” about our scrum, given Coley gave Mako a lesson on Christmas Eve. Let’s hope for torrential rain, wind and some fog.

I guess we shall just have to go to Sandy Park and complete the double over the Chiefs just to add to the confusion of our year.
I'm not cynical just experienced
Re: Tigers v Exeter
I think if we can go to Chiefs with a never-say-die attitude then I'm sure we can come away with something,

A loss and no bonus point
Only joking. I remain optimistic despite recent performances. As a much-missed contributor to this board used to say KEEP THE FAITH!
Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!

Personally I hope this game will be the watershed that either prompts a rethink of strategy or the BoD to have second thoughts.
Leicester Tigers 1995-
Nottingham 1995-2000
Swansea (Whites) 1988-95
A game played on grass in the open air by teams of XV.

I remember those days well, funnily enough I witnessed some of the same down at Leicester Road last Saturday!jgriffin wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2017 4:48 pm I once had the dubious pleasure of watching a Tigers move from one wing to the other, flat line finger-tip stuff especially from George Chuter, from my vantage point in the Crumbie. It works against physically weaker opposition, but against stamina and shape was born the reliance on a certain young outside centre to be direct.
I expect a bit more threat from the likes of Ford and Toomua to be totally honest, they both have an ability to line break and need to contribute more than last weekend, only then can Leicester bring in a genuine open side to add to proceedings.
If they continue the same side to side probing though then the extra beef will no doubt be required on the back row for a bashing contest!

MO'C: “Dom Ryan is back training fully and will come in to the mix and available for selection in the next couple of weeks.”
So - not Sunday although BBCLeicester saying "Dominic Ryan is back available for the NYE trip to Exeter after concussion in the autumn."
So, that's clear then...
In other news - Dom Barrow is to see a specialist over a persistent neck problem.
