Good read on the BBC Sport Website about Cockerill

Post by Ian Cant »

Credit where credit is due to Richard Cockerill. I always admired him and was sad to see him leave but believe a change was necessary ( sadly the club didn’t do what I had hoped for:a complete overhaul of the coaching set up from top to bottom). This article shows why the press like Richard: total honest and humility.
The words Deano said to him now need reiterating before the Sarries game. We admire Sarries but as soon as the team get on that Welford Road pitch on Sunday Tigers have to get back to the Deano/Howard/ good times under Cockerill: This is now. This is our pitch: no one comes here and wins: we are the best and our fans the noisiest. The whole club has to buy into this: this same attitude is what Richard Cockerill is trying to build into the Edinburgh squad. Good luck to both teams this weekend.

Another ex Tiger has a few words too
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

Err - where have you been the last few weeks?
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

Won't change views or opinions, people think what they think, rightly or wrongly.

I think this speaks volumes about the Cocker/Mauger experiment

I still believe he should be DOR at Tigers.

Another good, straight to the point comment from him today:
"We proved last weekend that we're a good enough side to stay in the battle, so we're going through to Glasgow to win - it's as simple as that.

"We're playing a good brand of rugby at the moment and we're scoring tries. We're not there to make up the numbers."

Should have gone well before he did. 14-0?

When you take into account where both Toulon and Embra were your comment becomes a wisecrack and no more
