Now to make European woes positive!

Post by Ian Cant »

Not surprisingly we lost tonight but some positives:
1) Manu And MT got games under their belts.
2) Matt Tait excellent at full back tonight.
3) Johnnie May- world class.
4) In the next two Euro matches rest the internationals so we don’t need to in the Premiership. Chance to get team ready for the internationals in Feb.
5) Harry Wells must now be given game time.
6) Maybe now the board will have to face facts- a top forwards coach- kicking coach and defence coach needed- Get Gustard before anyone close by snaps him up.
7) Support excellent today and now can turn the heat up next week v Sarries.
8) Tigers’ lineout surely cannot get worse!

So, come on let us as a club start getting the basics right; beat Sarries then go for it v Exeter; simple!

I'd add a (9)...

Despite their evident displeasure at the ref awarding penalties to the opposition, our fans maintained the tradition of 'respecting the kicker'. It was good to see. Sadly, the abuse hurled at 'Monsieur' in the tunnel wasn't as edifying.

I don't think Tigers were as good as some people made out when we beat Castre, but equally not as bad as people are making out now. Would love to see Wells and Holmes come in to prove a point. For Sarries would love to see:

Rizzo Polata-Nau Cole
Wells Barrow (C)
Williams Hamilton Kalamafoni
Youngs Ford
Toomua Tuilagi
May Tait Holmes

Youngs, Mulipola, Cilliers/ Bateman, Kitchener, Mapapalangi, Harrison, Hardwick, Owen
