Re: Munster vs Tigers
Completely agree that Worth should get a go in the side. He looks a promising player and we have very little to loose and a lot to gain by playing him. While I think Mapapalangi has been ok, I think a back row of Hamilton Evans and Kala is the way forward.
Re: Munster vs Tigers
Worth or Pakalani for fullback next week? Worth is experienced at playing fullback in the Champions Cup but Pakalani may offer more going forward

Re: Munster vs Tigers
I agree MrP.
Strawclearer I read that Bateman is out for 2-3 months. Also apparently BOC is injured, but it really would be good to hear from the club the exact position on all the injuries.
I had a dream......
1. Rowntree
2. Cockerill
2. Garforth
4. Johnson
5. Kay
6. Wells
7. Back
8. Richards
Then I woke up!!!!

Re: Munster vs Tigers
Not seen the game so I can only go by what I said earlier, what I read today and what the pundits on this forum have said. So the Tigers get mullered again!! Another 4 trys in the against column (90 pts shipped in 4 games - abysmal to put mildly and without getting censored)!! Given the stats in TRP, with 5 penalties to the good, IMO the Tigers should have had at least an LBP and prevented Munster from getting 5pts? I reiterate what I said above for this coming Sunday and given last nights performance that is the Tiger's European challenge over for this season. I expect both the French sides to take 5 points in the remaining games given the Tigers 'sieve defence'.TigerCam wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2017 2:05 pmI believe that the Munster pack will be too strong and therefore Ben & George will spend the majority of the game on the back foot. The line-out too will be under severe pressure. I do expect (as always) a big performance in defence from the Tigers and that the mullering will not materialise? I do not see where the Tigers will dominate except maybe in broken play but even then it will be on scraps. I'm and not being negative but realistic given the number of trys leaked over the past 3 game and the pack being really up against it. I would like to think that when I check for the results around 10pm I have an early christmas present from the Tigers - tho' I doubt it but anything can happen as long as there is not the repetition of having 3 players in the sin-bin!!

I hope coaches and players watch the Scarlets : Benetton match from the weekend to see how Mathieu Raynal likes to referee the game. We really should be playing the refs better than we seem to.
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

Re: Munster vs Tigers
Couldn't agree more. We should also adapt our game as the match unfolds. If the ref repeatedly fails to penalise our opponents for things like in at the side or playing the ball on the floor or other assorted breakdown offences then we should do the same until we are pinged. Our captain can then politely point out that the opponents appear to be doing the same and ask the ref for clarification. Maybe we should try the odd forward pass or two also. After all if the officials pick them up it's only a scrum and we should be able to hold our own there and if they don't and we score then fair enough. Previously I would not have advocated such things but as we have repeatedly been the "victims" of some dreadful officiating it's time to level out the playing field.strawclearer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2017 6:03 pm I hope coaches and players watch the Scarlets : Benetton match from the weekend to see how Mathieu Raynal likes to referee the game. Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!
Re: Munster vs Tigers
That will disappoint particular people on here as this appointment would be to "in house". It is irrelevant that he's done a fantastic job at Worcester!
Re: Munster vs Tigers
I believe that one of the main reasons (though not the only one) we lost this game was our lack of GOOD competition at the breakdown. They had 2 of their back row doing the job and we had one. The 2 M's are ball carriers not breakdown specialists, Hamilton tried hard but he can't do the job on his own and get to every breakdown 1st. What is the update on BO'C's fitness?
Hehehehehehehehe
Re: Munster vs Tigers
Then surely the answer is starting Harry Wells next week, proven breakdown operator and won't turnover ball like BOC but allows us to keep our heavy backrow of Mapapalangi, Kalamafoni and Hamiltontrendylfj wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2017 8:34 am I believe that one of the main reasons (though not the only one) we lost this game was our lack of GOOD competition at the breakdown. If Tigers were playing anything like a decent standard of rugby, the officiating wouldn't matter a jot.

You're joking right?G.K wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2017 7:38 amThis is nothing new, Young's box kicks are overused and predicatable, sapajo wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2017 10:24 pm Ben Young's and George Ford did nothing but kick the ball away all game, Tom Young's lost his head, Veianu probably lost teeth, we regularly lost or gave away our ball. We were beaten up on our ball and powerless to disrupt or slow their ball. Apart from that we were atrocious across the pitch. Best forget Europe we will struggle to have any fit players left for and maintain any premiership aspirations.
According to ellis9, Ben Youngs is the best scrum half in world rugby, his kicks are simply peerless, his speed and ability to take two or three steps from the base of a ruck allowing the attackers to close him down are a master stroke of strategy, his general apathy is justified as his skillset is peerless.
