Re: Tigers v Worcester
Ellis, there was an International game involving England on at the same time in case you forgot!
Re: Tigers v Worcester
That's irrelevant. People want 3pm Saturday kick offs no matter what else is going on. There's no excuse.
Anyway, well done Warriors. A big improvement is needed next week from Tigers.

Although I haven’t seen the games the commentary sound distinctly similar last year, joe ford seems to have been singled out a lot and I’m sure when he was signed as much as to appease George I’m sure it was thought that he’d have toomua out side him calling the shots and taking the pressure away. As for the doom mongering that we now stand no chance I think you have to look at what was missing both international prop in fact the whole 1st choice front row, international 1st choice no8, 1st choice international 9 and 10, 1st choice centres again both internationals and club top score and international wing, you take those out of any team they’re going to struggle as into that a few players only just coming back from injuries in Fitzgerald and cilliers. I think there will be a marked improvement again over the next few week. I think it just show whe haven’t recruited well enough for our squad players.
Re: Tigers v Worcester
Anyone know why Barrow was on the stand and not the pitch?

Failed a fitness check/test apparently but no detail of why specifically.

Didn’t see the game.
How did Owen and Matt smith get on in the centres?

Before the game MOC was interviewed on BBC RL and he said that Barrow had strained his neck.

Heard it was an issue with the neck.WhitecapTiger wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2017 8:12 pmFailed a fitness check/test apparently but no detail of why specifically.

Re: Tigers v Worcester
Defence was woeful.
Too many first up tackles - Joe Ford flaps like a bird. Far more than Varndell was criticised for in days gone by..
Matt Smith only seems able to tackle what runs in to him.
These series of passes from side to side may look flash but if you go back 10m eachime and no player runs on to the ball, commits a tackler and then passes the result is a return to your own territory.
Kitchener for a big bloke doesn't offer anything in attack.

MOM, there was not one worthy of it in Tigers side, maybe Bateman who tried his heart out!

Without Toomua in the side, I'm starting to see the benefit of Tait at 12. He seemed to make more breaks in 10 minutes than anyone else did all game.
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

There we no contenders for the Matt Smith Pass of the Day award this week.
Owen made a lovely break or two, in particular one to get out of the 22 with a beautiful feint to kick, step and go. Took his try well too.

Re: Tigers v Worcester
A fair comment. Tigers' defence was rubbish and we deserved 24 of the points to be scored against us. However at the other end the referee did us no favours at all, particularly the blatant (offside) no-arms tackle and the leaping salmon "attempted catch" (how he was supposed to catch it one handed at full vertical stretch is beyond me; the 3-1 overlap outside him certainly was good motivation though). That said, neither apparently did the TMO, who should be supporting an inexperienced referee.Grimlish wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2017 6:33 pm I hope MO’C’s match report on the referee is scathing. MO’C was very guarded on Radio Leicester but it was clear the ref bottled several decisions. The non review of the forward pass, the no arms tackle while they were down to 14, the deliberate knock on that prevented a try. I don’t want to blame the ref - our performance was certainly below par - but without those decisions this was a win for us. 2/10 for the ref for me, assuming he turned up on time.

Many thanks, definitely better rested then. Needed for the next 5 matches, hopefully he recovers well and in time.L Smith wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2017 9:19 pmHeard it was an issue with the neck.WhitecapTiger wrote: ↑Sat Nov 25, 2017 8:12 pm
