Excellent, since Tigers have such a glut of world class centres.

I hope it's a good signing, but we will certainly be losing at least one of HT and GM, possibly both. Could even be a mid season transfer....

It will be interesting to see how he fares v Hartley and the England pack on Saturday.

can't see it possibly being both as that would leave us with 2 hookers.

I hope you're right RB. Who is Jake Kerr? He's presumably covering hooker tomorrow.

I thought Harry Mahoney was a hooker?

I see this as a really positive move by the club.

It will hopefully significantly take the pressure of Tom Youngs and means that should he need to be else where he can be.

Well done Leicester for supporting the people who make our team, club and town great

It's also a top quality signing who wants to come

How many are premiership/European standard, 1 maybe 2.
I think this is sign of Mcguigan off to Bristol, then past Thacker there is no one approaching premiership standard at the moment

Quality player who is one of the best hookers in the world, great call carrier and agree will take weight of toms shoulders during a difficult time.

Great signing by Tigers, always think hooker is a position where you need two international players which we have missed since Ghiraldini left.

Sadly looks like either Thacker or McGuigan are going. Would hope to keep Thacker, he is through the academy and has more ability. Will only get better in the set piece with time too.

I think this is a great signing for the reasons expressed in several posts above.

Personally I don't think that McGuigan has shown many signs of fulfilling the potential we thought he had when we signed him. Indeed the consensus among my group of friends with whom I stand on the terrace (all of whom have been watching Tigers for years) and myself is that at best he has reached a plateau. The harsher critics in the group suggested that he is actually going backwards. So if anyone goes to Bristol or elsewhere I would rather it was him than Harry Thacker who in my opinion offers more around the park and can be used as an emergency openside flanker.
Tigers for the premiership and European Cup. Get behind the team and make some noise!!
