Spencer is a good shout,Mafi is a brock. Wheees the SA monster?
Spencer is a bug lump, he'd be the enforcer type role we need. Been a while since we've signed a Bok from SA and they've gone on to establish themselves here.
Someone did tell me that we'd be unofficially confirming a signing in January and it would be a second row. We'll have to see.
Sounds harsh but would like to see the Mauger appointments in the forwards leave, such as Fitzgerald and O’Connor. By no means bad players just don’t think they suit our style or the way we want to play going forwards. Traynor and Baumann have shown they aren’t up to the level so need to go and Cilliers and Mulipola need to prove fitness.
Signing of Gigena is a start and the coaches must have seen something that they like in him. Could also do with another TH if Mulipola or Cilliers leave. With either Thacker or McGuigan leaving that should free up some cap.
Personally see Fitzgerald as an excellent utility forward, while BOC is IMO needed for a better contest at breakdown, an area we are sadly leaving to the opposition. BOC is also an excellent link.

I suspect MO'C agrees with you re Fitz but not his namesake. Personally, I like both in the 23.
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO
Wear a Mask>Protect The NHS>Save Lives
Our forwards are always unbalanced now
Too much emphasis on play anywhere-
We just dont have the quality, physicality, strength technique or mental awareness in the present lot.
Losing Genge---who bound it all together and covered the big cracks----was even worse than losing Telesu.
As for our Locks-----------ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......
We NEED ASAP
2 Quality heavyweight nasty Props
Ditto the Second Row
A massive No 8 ball carrier and a really top notch No7
2 Back up quailty centres and a no2 Full Back---------Pennell or Hammersley will do
So yeah missing 4 players out of 8. Bateman, Youngs, Barrow, Wells, Mapapalangi, Williams and Hamilton are all good strength in depth with Evans coming through.
Kalamafoni has the ability to be an exception no.6 for us, but we need international class at 7 and 8 to truly challenge.

I'm unsure on Fitzgerald. When he's in form he's a good mobile ball carrier with a good engine who works hard in defence. At the lineout he seems poor, rarely used as a jumper and in recent weeks our scrum and rolling maul looked much better when he came off for Barrow. I think it might be time to let him go and look to secure an enforcer style more physical lock in his place. We have Wells as a utility forward who is a better jumper, at the breakdown and more aggressive. You'd expect Wells to be a lot cheaper as well.
Fitzgerald is a 6 thats why,hes suited to carrying one out from the breakdown. Our POTS recently from blindside and he gets moved to lock, another great Tigers decision!
Fitz probably is more of a 6 than lock. But is he better than Mapapalangi and Williams? If he isn’t then he’s probably on a lot of money for 3rd choice.

From what I remember of him in Super Rugby he played as a second row and moved to play 6 because of injuries or tactics. He was the third choice lock behind Symons and Retallick. The first choice backrow at the time was Messam, Cane and Leitch.

Correct, but he has still played far better at 6 for us. Second rows are far more attritional in AP compared to SR and have a much lesser skillset.
:censored:, SE, can you lay off the acronyms?
What’s POTS?
