Well certainly Alo is big but I’m not convinced of his scrummaging or loose play for someone of his size. I think we should go for Schonert but we should also see what Betts and Hills can do in the Academy. Another prop we could go for is Paul Hill

Quite a few posters have mentioned Mulipola and injuries. I believe that they may be due to deliberate and often illegal targeting of his knees when teams had seen how good he could be in the loose.
Repeated chop tackles with no intervention from referee, TMO, citing officer and now he has knee problems.

I think you're right and I'm sure it's not restricted to Mulipola. Although the referee, TMO and citing officer have a part to play (albeit after the event) the prime responsibility lies with the players themselves. One of the elements of any profession is a code of conduct. Sometimes it's unwritten, sometimes written, often regulated - even underpinned by law.

Being 'professional' doesn't simply mean you're paid. It also means you adhere to accepted behaviour.

Not sure I get this point about the alleged targeting of Logo's knees. I was coached to think of a low tackle around the legs as a "good" tackle and I don't see how anyone can tackle around the legs and somehow avoid making contact with the knees. As regards the general rugby point: is it morally ok to target your opponents' weak points (eg is it ok to exploit a full back's vulnerability under the high ball) the answer of course is a definite yes. So if a rampaging 18 stone prop is charging towards you, how can it be wrong to make a legal low tackle around the legs?

I used the term chop tackle as shorthand for no arms battering ram style aimed at the joint. Not a legitimate way to tackle and known to cause injury.
Often from the side or behind.
I have no complaint about any proper tackling.

With so much talk about needing back up props, would Balmain be worth another try, i'm sure he would be better than our existing backups and probably would come cheap?

I think he left to further his England chances so i doubt he'd come back to play 2nd/3rd choice

Realistically no, he's behind Cole, Sinckler, Collier, Schonert and probably Paul Hill

He could possibly do a job as injury cover for England but he's never gonna be pushing those I listed

You missed Williams off that list.
Hill would be a decent shout, started brightly at Saints, breaking the England setup, but has stalled.
Can't say I've seen as much of Schonert in truth.
