Kyle Traynor? Anybody got any info because i'm assuming we haven't signed a 31 year old Scottish prop from Bristol into a development squad, also Josh Fenner in neither Development or Academy team?

That's the one. Guessing it is like when we signed Parr a bit.

RE Fenner he wasn't down on the squads lists last season despite playing for us BUT i suspect he has signed for the Brumbies academy. (Suspect being the key word)

Well it's all out about managing expectations and I think we will have no more me signings other than those already announced.
Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity

I'm so impressed (hardly...) I'm having to lever Mrs G into having an ST this season. She's well gone off the club after this last year, multiple reasons. :smt009

We simply have to sign a couple more quality backs. Otherwise (unless miracles happen and all the best players stay fit all season) we will struggle to finish in the top 6.

I really don't want to hear the words "transitional season" from the club again this season - we're a professional club and need to play to our strengths and really compete. If we don't then hotel or no hotel, the club is going to start going backwards quickly.

Interesting post, I did a little exercise in picking my first team (assuming everyone fit) then a second team and even a third team using development players. We do seem a little overloaded in the back row and light in the backs, however many players are versatile covering two or three positions and hopefully this may be the year one or two Academy/development players really challenge for the first team squad. Our fully fit 1st XV and bench looks pretty good although I must admit I am assuming Jonah Holmes is as good as I hope having only seen him a couple of times on TV with Carnegie.
I do think we need to sign or produce another winger/fullback but on the whole the squad looks reasonable and I expect that the coming season will be an improvement on last when we were only a couple of minutes away from making the final. I will be very disappointed if we do not show a vast improvement in European performance as last year was abysmal. Can't wait for the action to commence.

I can't imagine for a moment there won't be more quality signings for next season in the backs.

McKenzie has just been drafted into the AB's as cover for Ben Smith..........think we might be getting into dreamworld with him.

But hey.....doesn't hurt to dream!!!!

I don't think Damian was ever going to come. Marty would be a really useful signing

Am I the only one concerned that Richard Blaze remains as forwards coach? I just feel out pack need new ideas and this summer would have been the time to bring in someone new. Our lineout struggled last year, a position which should be his expertise.

I have nothing against him, and I think we saw the improvements brought in by Stanko, but I think the club should be investing in a top class forwards coach.

Cocker was the forwards coach, the line out and breakdown were Blazers responsibility and all in that department functioned ok until Aaron Mauger and Cocker were giving different messages to the team. That problem should now be solved and all should be working from MOC's hymn sheet. Stop being concerned start looking forward to the new season, all will be well/ :smt038 :smt038

Not just the coaches in the past but some senior players and maybe a Board member or two were culpable last season, and the winner was the Board, who made significant mistakes. Unlike John I am less optimistic as I think unless MOC has addressed his limitations we will struggle.
