Useful player, hope he's fit and ready to go. Welcome Gareth.

Don't know much about him, but you would think he's been signed to add depth to the centres, which is exactly what we need - and probably at a sensible wage cost too. We already have two top class centres when both fit.

Experience to fill the cover gap left by Roberts/Betham and to an extent Williams. Hopefully a change of scene will allow him to regain some form and confidence. :smt001

Unbelievable scenes on the Facebook group over this.

He's clearly not being signed as a starter, so he won't be costing a lot.
He clearly isn't at the expense of a big name signing.
He has experience at the top level.
He covers a number of positions that we require depth for.

Therefore on the face of it, he seems a sensible signing.

Well no, but neither is he intended to be.
If we're not able to sign someone of the calibre of Fekitoa or McKenzie (for instance) it won't be because we've signed Owen.
This signing has no bearing on the big signings, I'm quite confident on that.

I have it on good authority that he's on standby for the Lions in case anyone pulls an eyebrow or sprains an earlobe this weekend!

Looks decent enough, for me he looks like a Tait replacement (assuming he is off), could be a handy super sub

Based on those highlights he has a deft left foot (always useful), runs straight and can give a scoring pass - something Roberts and Betham never demonstrated, I'm afraid.

Looks pretty handy. Is it me or has he got a passing resemblance to Fernando Alonso of F1 fame.

Just posted on other thread, Blues fans I chatted to in Cardiff rugby shop rate him as a solid second choice/utility for us.
