Nice to seem someone throwing a tantrum and hurling insults just because someone points out they have a history of claiming there is 'no chance' of something happening and being wrong.

Some of us just happen to have enough of a memory to remember some of what we've said and done, and even a little bit of what others have said and done. It's really not that unusual.

Their ability as players is not in question here.

But not surprising from somebody who will make an accusation of a poster having nothing better to do than be on here if they can remember a few old posts and then follow up with an accusation of cowardice(!) if they don't respond to a post within two minutes.

Basically you don't like it when people point out something you got wrong so you result to name-calling and insulting them as it is 'sad' for anyone to disagree with you and point it out, and yes h's dad is right it is possible to remember your post - It doesn't require sitting here scrolling though threads to find them!

Neil Fissler has apparently published in The Rugby Paper that Tait, Croft, McCaffrey, Catchpole, JPP and Kitto have all been told they are surplus to requirements and they are free to find other clubs. This will free up enough salary to potentially sign Marty, Damien McKenzie, Fekitoa and number 8 Amanaki Mafi.

Watch this space!
I am not disputing but where have these names come from? which Marty are you referring to?
I asked the same question! Got no answer but I think it should read "Marty and Damien McKenzie" - brothers.

Just like there was no chance we would finish in the top 4 and you were right on that one, oh wait... :smt022
I'd be gobsmacked if Damien McKenzie left this summer. He's either at 15 or 10 for the Chiefs and with Cruden gone he should finally get first dibs on the 10 shirt. He's already been around the AB squad and got a couple of caps whilst only 22.

We won't sign both brothers because they play the same positions. Marty Mckenzie is the bigger of the two and will be cheaper because he's not an AB. At 24 a quick 10/wing/15 that can kick for goal. Will do nicely.

If Tait is off we'll need to add a couple of centres but I would be surprised if one was Fekitoa, though he has just been dropped by NZ. Worth can play 10/12 and 15 and Thacker (Charlie) can play 12/13 so we can use them as squad players with Smith. Just need one more specialist centre and then a utility centre/wing, unless Catchpole will provide that cover.

It should read Marty and Damien McKenzie.

Damien is the younger, arguably more talented brother, who plays 10 and 15. He's currently stuck behind Cruden at Chiefs but also plays full back to accommodate both. He's a huge talent but I can't see him leaving NZ with Cruden about to head to France.

Marty is the slightly older, still only 24 years old, brother who also plays 10 and 15. He has struggled to hold down a first choice place with Crusaders due to Dagg at 15 and Richie Mo'unga. He also has been out of the AB reckoning since a brief foray in 2014. He's still an excellent player but has struggled to become first choice at 10 or 15 given the depth the NZ franchises have at both.

Marty seems the more realistic one who may be wanting to move away. If he does then I'd want him at Tigers in a heart beat. He cover two positions where we need depth and does so to a better standard than those he'd be replacing. From 15 he could offer a second play maker giving us genuine attacking options on both sides of the field, especially in the opposition 22.

This is a tweet from BBC Leicester earlier today:

Forward Valentino Mapapalangi has been named in the Tonga squad as a Leicester Tigers player. The club say he's not on the books.

With the business head on there's not a lot of point signing a project player before the international break. If the project player suffers a long term injury you lose the opportunity to develop them and there's little chance of them making any impact in the season. They'd still be taking up cap.

Could do a Scott Hamilton here I think. Having him as a second choice 10/15 makes far more sense then having our first choice 12 as second choice 10.

Unfortunately, I can't imagine us bringing him in without finding Tait another club first; unless the Betham money frees up enough cap?

Just to remind us of leavers I see Tigers news on the website is covering some old boys fortunes. Owen Williams is a Gloucester player (as listed by WRFU as well) yet we have a June 14 story about him being in the Wales 23 this weekend. Maybe Tigers news will follow up with some stories on Twelvetrees, Gibson, Goneva, Mermoz, Waldron, Parling, Flood, Burns....I could go on.

Incidentally why do the RFU list GF as a Bath player? I suppose OW contract could be June 1 and GF July 1 but....

Personally I don't have an issue with the alleged list of players invited to leave. There was much gnashing of teeth on this forum when the above left, but that is a very small part of why we declined in the last few years. I am much more interested in recruitment than who is leaving. Most of the list are at the end of their career or haven't cut it. Squad changes are necessary if we are to challenge again.
