Freddie's comments.
The excellent Freddie Burns has shown himself a Tiger of honour with his last comments on the season. A man I thought was a problem purchase has blossomed beyond belief and I am really sorry to see him go.

Re: Freddie's comments.
When he arrived three years ago the consensus was that he'd be a slightly better Ryan Lamb. Don't think many had him down as a future fan favourite. He's improved an awful lot and we'll all miss him. Possibly the first Bath player to get a cheer at WR?

Re: Freddie's comments.
I tweeted a day or so ago, saying "The Club has treated Freddie very badly. On the other hand, the fans have loved him. His final tackle and his tears at the end spoke volumes."
He 'liked' the comment almost immediately so I guess it sums up pretty closely how he feels.

Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

What do you base that statement on? There was broad agreement that Freddie would be a substantial asset at WR with Noddy being a lonely dissenting voice.sam16111986 wrote:When he arrived three years ago the consensus was that he'd be a slightly better Ryan Lamb. I am neither clever enough to understand nor stupid enough to play this game

Am I the only one now bored of the current 'Freddie Burns' love-in?
Probably.
Probably.

I don't mind so much the thanks and well wishes. He's earned it.ourla wrote:Nope. Me too.Roly wrote:Am I the only one now bored of the current 'Freddie Burns' love-in?

What I'm getting fed up with is the snarling at the board over the situation.
Burns was great. Sorry he's going.
Ford is great. Happy he's joining us.

Re: Freddie's comments.
Thank goodness. I'm not the only one. I am getting very bored with the Freddie love-in. Let's not forget that whilst he wasn't treated particularly professionally he didn't have to leave, it was an option on the table and he took it, rather than stay to fight for his place.Iain wrote:I don't mind so much the thanks and well wishes. He has finished his Tigers stint in great form and I have enjoyed having him here. It's over now and we have the current England 10 on his way. Let's hope there's as much fawning over George in the coming months.

Re: Freddie's comments.
Add me to the bored list.
Re: Freddie's comments.
Freddie has experienced what a lot of folks are subjected to ie a board decision to make a managed move in the workplace. I am sure it was a very unpleasant experience but ultimately he could still have kept his job and he is now not going to be out of one. No one can question Freddie's commitment but fact is GF is an upgrade and he will be instrumental to clawing our way back to the top of english club rugby.
Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity
Re: Freddie's comments.
Agreed. Players come and players go. The club saw an opportunity to sign a top class fly half and took it. Then one of 2 scenarios happened: One- Burns was told by Tigers he was no longer wanted/needed or we couldn't afford him and Ford or two- Burns was told Ford was coming to the club and he would have to fight for his place.
The outcome of each scenario is that Burns is leaving to join Bath. This is professional sport, whether you like it or not, this sort of thing happens.
Thank you Freddie for your performances and determination. Good luck at Bath
Welcome back George Ford.

Re: Freddie's comments.
Burns has the right to question how he was treated but I wouldn't have necessarily done this in public domain.
He's gone, get over it. It happens all the time in business.

Not bothered about the Fred love-in. Am bothered about rumoured early departures of others. Am totally sick of inaccurate :censored: about TTTE and Salvi.
