Tough but not insurmountable, I just don't understand the need to draw a competition 2 and a half years before the first match. Would rather be playing France than Wales, Argentina are so unpredictable though.

So France, Argentina, probably USA and one of Samoa, Tonga and Fiji.

Ouch. If anything that's a worse draw than last time out.

Could have been South Africa and Wales so I don't see much issue with the draw.

It might appear so, but England are a better team now. They haven't lost to any of those teams in quite some considerable time (and some of them never) and providing Jones continues to develop the squad, that's a workmanlike group waiting to be topped.

I'll take France and Argentina. Frankly if we can't beat them then we don't deserve to get out of the group.

My biggest concern was South Africa, and it still worries me that we will meet them in the quarter finals. By 2019 they could be motoring again and pose a real threat.

I'd say that was a fair draw. It gives Japan a chance of making the quarters (can they beat Scotland?).

This is good news for me as I am planning on going and both Argentina and France have some great fans that are good fun :smt023

Fair point. What I mean is that on paper they are a tougher set of opponents overall. We are of course better equipped as it stands. Should toughen us up for the knock out rounds at least.

Who knows, what with injuries and retirements and law changes, what state any of the teams will be in 30 months from now?

As Things are at the moment I don't think that is a tough group at all. France are on the slide and the Pumas no longer seem to be punching their weight. However it could pep up if Samoa qualify as the Oceania member.

Be even 'peppier' if its Fiji

You know, I think if you had to face one or the other you'd prefer Fiji. My logic being that you'd expect to beat either one of them - but with Samoa you take a right battering in the process. Having to shake off a lot of bumps and bruises isn't ideal in tight turnarounds.

Tough draw; easiest draw for AB's (be very surprised to see a resurgent SA by then); but still don't understand why they don't seed and draw nearer the time.

OK, on paper it's a tough draw, but as it's more than two years away current form has nothing to do with it.
You never know, come the tournament, France could be pool favourites !!
