Re: Away to Saints
If they're fit, the returning internationals should expect to play some part in the match v N'hampton. I'm not sure what Cole & Youngs offer at top level anymore, but they're certainly more effective at club level and Tigers don't really have the luxury of being able to drop points - if they want to be part of the play-offs.

This is the Dan Cole who has started the last 19 games for England?Roly wrote:If they're fit, the returning internationals should expect to play some part in the match v N'hampton. and the Ben Youngs who was Player of the autumn internationals for England.....

Re: Away to Saints
I disagree. It seems the players aren't too happy that Mauger is going so will want him to go out on a high. I think we will see one hell of a performance tomorrow.G.K wrote:Needs to be full metal jacket but I can't see Tigers winning it, especially with the turmoil.
It's just the last 4 games afterwards I worry about!
Re: Away to Saints
I spoke with a couple of the squad on Weds night and the general thoughts going around is that AM is a lovely bloke and a good coach, but most of the squad think that MOC is a very good coach too!ellis9 wrote:I disagree. " We are all professionals and we will just get on with it" was the final comment. One thing that came out of the conversation is that our club captain didn't know that the MOC was taking over until training on Tuesday!

No, not really. That was then, this is now.Bunchy wrote:and the Ben Youngs who was Player of the autumn internationals for England.....

Arguably, Care is a much more effective No9. Just for example.
But that's just opinion isn't it. I personally think their time as incumbents are numbered when you consider the strength in depth England have through to U20 at the moment.

That's true - squad had a day off / hangover day on Monday and announcement made on Tuesday morning..kelmat wrote:I spoke with a couple of the squad on Weds night and the general thoughts going around is that AM is a lovely bloke and a good coach, but most of the squad think that MOC is a very good coach too!ellis9 wrote:I disagree. There is a lot of positivity about MOC amongst the squad from those that know him....

Re: Away to Saints
Great to see young Ben White continuing on the bench.
Otherwise completely as expected really. One assumes Fitzgerald's aerial ability is taken above Williams direct approach (and the fact that Williams and McCaffrey are still probably puffing after last Sunday!).

Re: Away to Saints
Really surprised to see Mike Williams on the bench! Other than that a good team, no Kitto at all, presumably another injury?!

Looks like a strong team. The intention, no doubt, is to try and clinch the win.Jumbo wrote:Leicester Tigers (v Northampton Saints, away, Saturday 3.00pm)

I'm sure a lot of people on Facebook will be bemoaning the lack of Thacker, but having Fitzgerald in there suggests that the back row will need to be big and ugly to compete with Northampton's. Williams and McCaffrey will provide continuity in that department. Good luck to Tigers.

Their bench is a bit tasty too. The Tigers need to be really fired up for this one? Their back row will take some stoppingSoggypitch wrote:15 Ahsee Tuala

No dicking around there. Both coaches putting out their strongest teams.
It's certainly season defining for Saints. It would be big win for us also.
