Ireland vs England
As we build up to the 'big one' on Saturday, Charlie Hodgson sets the ball rolling with a piece on the England Rugby website:
http://www.englandrugby.com/news/featur ... 62213785=1
Here's an extract:
"One of the fundamentals of the game now is the set piece and the one person that is the cornerstone to this England pack is Dan Cole.
He is the only player that has started in every game of the unbeaten 18 games and his contribution should never be underestimated.
A quiet, unassuming bloke with a dry sense of humour, Coley is a very important cog in this England team and no doubt the work he does in the engine room is appreciated by everyone else in this side."

Re: Ireland vs England
I think this is shown in the fact that on Saturday he will be England's second every most capped prop after the legend Jason Leonardstrawclearer wrote:As we build up to the 'big one' on Saturday, Charlie Hodgson sets the ball rolling with a piece on the England Rugby website:

Re: Ireland vs England
Love the fact that Cole has defied the critics and slaps that has made at by some and you'd say he's now I guy who would command universal respect.
England could do with another good start on Saturday. You wouldn't want to get that team up and firing with the Dublin crowd in full voice behind them. Hopefully we can stifle them like Wales did and then cut loose when we get the chance.

Absolutely right. A legend.strawclearer wrote:As we build up to the 'big one' on Saturday, Charlie Hodgson sets the ball rolling with a piece on the England Rugby website:

I'm not cynical just experienced
Re: Ireland vs England
It's not that big of a game anymore. England are 2017 Six Nations Champions.
Re: Ireland vs England
The fact that we are champions now means it is an even bigger game, all the others Nations want to stop us getting the grand slam, Ireland are hurting and after 2 defeats do not want to lose a third, plus they DO NOT want to lose at home.ellis9 wrote:It's not that big of a game anymore. Re: Ireland vs England
Ridiculous Ellis9! It's a huge game, back to back GS winners puts these guys close to immortality! And if we lose this game the line that we are closing the gap on NZ can no longer be used,it's these games that will define how great we can become. I'm just glad that the squad and coaches won't have your attitude!

Re: Ireland vs England
Until 1993 there was no champion unless it was a Grand Slam. Unless you can beat everybody you're not a winner.ellis9 wrote:It's not that big of a game anymore. England are 2017 Six Nations Champions.
I am neither clever enough to understand nor stupid enough to play this game

Have a watch on Saturday and then comment.ellis9 wrote:It's not that big of a game anymore. England are 2017 Six Nations Champions.
Re: Ireland vs England
I'm still really struggling with that comment, utter nonsense!

Re: Ireland vs England
What rubbish. It is much harder to win the grand slam than the championship, especially with the introduction of bonus points.ellis9 wrote:It's not that big of a game anymore. England are 2017 Six Nations Champions.
I would imagine the players value it more too

Perhaps this is irony?ellis9 wrote:It's not that big of a game anymore. England are 2017 Six Nations Champions.
It's a big game. Massive.
Re: Ireland vs England
As a player if you aren't motivated to win any 6N match you should retire.
Pride should be enough for both sides whether there is a championship or grand slam or nothing at all.

Re: Ireland vs England
I don't know why any of you are surprised..This person also thinks Owen Farrell is a rubbish player....
A grand slam in a Lions year really would be some achievement along with:
Most consecutive international wins ever (anyone who says Cyprus can do one lol)
Back to back grand slams
Bar a world cup there isn't a bigger game
Ireland would give anything to spoil this nevermind it being at home on Paddys weekend and they are playing for Lions selection
