Saturday vs Bristol - your nominations?

Post by jgriffin »

JPP and TV back (and the other TV if he's fit)? What about Betham? Will Fred be OK?
I'm looking forward to the weekend with hopes of another 5 points.

I think there'll be a combination of the team from Glaws except Williams for Fitz, Williams in for Burns, Mermoz for Smith and maybe JPP on the wing.

Worth and maybe TV/Brady/JPP on the bench depending on who starts on the left wing.

I think EJ will ask to see Mike Williams have a decent run at 6 and a few others need a start. Allowing for fitness I'd go

Rizzo, Mcguigan, Cilliers, Fitz, Barrow, M Williams, O'Connor, Hamilton, Harrison, O Williams, JPP, Mermoz, Roberts, Betham, Veianu

Bit of rotation Wormus.

Don't know Burns condition, but assuming he isn't fit something along the lines of

Youngs, Brunaga, Bateman, Slater, McCaffrey, Kitto, Tait, Thompstone

I don't think we will see much changes honestly, apart from Injury enforced or injury returners.

I see that Genge has been retained by England as part of a 25 man training squad

90% sure Burns will not be available as he failed a HIA, and protocol requires at least a week before he could play again; 6 day turn around scuppers this.

Not what I expect but what I'd like to see:

1.Rizzo 2.McGuigan 3.Cillier 4.Barrow 5.Slater 6.Williams 7.Thacker 8.Hamilton
9.Harrison 10.Williams 11.JPP 12.Mermoz 13.Roberts 14.Thompstone 15.TV

16.Youngs 17.Bateman 18.Balmain/Betts 19.Wells/Kitch 20.Croft 21.Kitto 22.Worth 23.Betham

If Kitchener is fit then I'd have him on the bench. If not it'd be good to see Wells rewarded for his form during the AWC.

The second prop on the bench is difficult to call with Genge in the week long England camp. Balmain is the more experienced option, Betts would gain more for the game time from a development perspective. If Bateman isn't going to cover LH again the Brugnara is an option but I'd prefer to let Bateman to cover to be honest.

We can't take Briz lightly with our recent form, we need the best available on the park.

A lot of people seem to have forgotten Locky. he's been our most consistent back row forward for two years, what's he done wrong? Is he injured?

I would play the same side as last week , apart from Owen W and Mermoz starting . JPP and Veianu on the bench .Croft or Kitch on bench instead of Thacker .
