Re: Only 2 Tigers in England 23
If we can go into the Prem with Genge and Williams fit a going I will be very happy.
Re: Only 2 Tigers in England 23
Not really - would have been good for Genge to have got a cap. Not like he'll be playing against Saracens instead is it?

True, but if he was with England, he would have been getting splinters for most of the match. With us he'll get more time to polish off some rough edges (I hope).Iain wrote:Not really - would have been good for Genge to have got a cap. Not like he'll be playing against Saracens instead is it?
Re: Only 2 Tigers in England 23
We have 2 players in the starting 15 which is the same as Bath and Saracens. It is actually a well spread team across the Prem clubs with only Wasps and Saints have 3 representation each in the starting line up.
Exeter are the noticeable absence. No player in the starting team and only one on the bench.

I would have assumed he'd stay in the England set up at this point though?Cagey Tiger wrote:True, but if he was with England, he would have been getting splinters for most of the match. What do you really expect? Other teams are playing better than Tigers, they will have more players in the team. Its not like 15 years ago we aren't dominating now so I really think 2 is good enough considering our performances.
Genge unlucky not to be on bench though.

Why play a centre (Daly) out od position on the wing when Nowell is on the bench?
Re: Only 2 Tigers in England 23
Possibly seeing if Daly learned anything from the last experience and letting the other know that you don't just waltz straight back in.mol2 wrote:Why play a centre (Daly) out od position on the wing when Nowell is on the bench?
Re: Only 2 Tigers in England 23
I'm with the school of thought that is being entirely selfish I'm happy that Genge and Williams will return fit and ready for the Gloucester match or will England still retain them in the squad for the whole of the six nations? I was quite resigned to the fact that we've lost Ben and Dan for the next 7 weeks, just hope that they return uninjured.
Re: Only 2 Tigers in England 23
Whilst I was pleased for Williams to get his call up I'm not sure he has done enough to demonstrate form that would merit England selection since the best part of 2 years out of the game.

Nowell has missed two crucial days training this week for personal reasons and no doubt Eddy wasn't happy about that and has left him on the bench accordingly.mol2 wrote:Why play a centre (Daly) out od position on the wing when Nowell is on the bench?
Daly will do a great job and he will have learnt from Argentina!!
