Statistics don't lie for once

Post by Pinot Tiger »

Our recent form makes both horrific viewing and reading. Our last 7 games going back to the debacle at Thomond Park in December makes for a grizzly comparison between us and the rest. Played 7 Won 1. Points conceded 200 (average 28.6), points scored 59 (av. 8.43). Tries conceded 21 (av. 3), tries scored 3 (av. 0.43). Yellow cards for opposition 2, Tigers 10!

Being an opposition defence coach in a Tigers week must be the easiest job in rugby. We do not seem to learn from other teams who play marauding rugby. We shovel the ball sideways and crab, or have one up ponderous runners trying to break down a wall. One sweeping move by Glasgow at the weekend saw them ship along the line through only about 5 pairs of hands but made 45 metres without being touched. we shipped it through 5 pairs of hands from exactly the same position and went back 5 then dropped it.

When oh when are we going to run from deep at PACE with the ball passed perfectly in front of the onrushing straight-running man outside? Some plagiarism is needed fast!
To Toulouse and beyond...
