Tigers v Glasgow

Post by fleabane »

Well, it's only a couple of days away and somebody had to start a thread!

Will Tigers react to the criticism of their abysmally poor and spineless performance last week?

Will the players stand up and be counted, each and everyone of them?

Does YBY deserve to start?

Will Genge and Tombstone be the only two to really put themselves on the line?

Will Glasgow get the bonus point win? Or go away with nothing?
Valhalla I am coming!

Ben Youngs will definitely start in my opinion. Last game in a Tigers shirt before they are released for the Six Nations.
Expect to see a strong performance though a victory will be tough. Glasgow have got only one thing on their mind and that is victory and qualification.
I hope for win, as always, but more important is the performance and fight that is put up by the team.

TBH the team picked is an irrelevance. It's whether they are on their game or not.

OK I don't normally do this as I expect Tigers to do well at home, but although I expect a reaction to last weeks hammering I think Glasgow will want/need this more and if I were a betting man (I'm not) I'd have Glasgow to win by more than 7 points and I think they have a chance of all 5 points. Unless we really front up, plug the huge defensive gaps and keep hold of the ball (knock ons and turnovers) I can see this being another long evening. I hope the team read this and prove me wrong!!

TBH I'm going expecting nothing. I feel very deflated after the last few weeks and wait to see whether there is a Plan A, let alone a Plan B....which will take us through to next season, I expect. Top 6 will be a plus after what has transpired so far.

Sensible side. Genge needs a break and if is away for the 6N, we need Bateman to get as much time at LH in this and the AWC if he is likely to share the position with Ayerza. Good rotation in the back row - a pleasant luxury!

No Brendon O'Connor again is he injured? Also surprised that we are benching Genge for England and Williams for Wales as I thought we were taking this game seriously.

Hasn't Genge played 2 back to back 80 min games? And Owen coming back off an injury.

I'm not like this, believe me,but I really think we will get beat by 15 or so points. All the match ups on the field we look second best.

This could be the game that makes up the mind of the board as to next season.I have heard that they (the board) have given AM and co 3 to four games to show what they can do, as we are expecting a few of our players back from injury.

What with call ups and everything I think this is a bit harsh if true, but getting rid of Cockers a when they did was a big call too.
I was in Paris, and its the first time I can say I was embarrassed to be a Tigers supporter, but I will be there tomorrow, but I'm really dont know what to expect other than a mauling !

+1 :smt023

With the Warriors bristling with Jock internationals and the rest are not shabby, and given they really want 5 points, then this is the game the Tigers have to take well if they want any chance of making the top 4 in the Prem and getting some self-belief back. They will :smt027 :smt027

I'm looking forward to seeing if Glasgow are as good away from home and seeing what Leicester have got to do about it.
Not sure I see much sense in that rotation at this stage but more a consequence of poor player management in the last few matches and a need to try and protect certain areas of that bench.
That bench is very lightweight compared to Glasgow, I hope they bring their stick mitts.
Should be a good game, both teams with plenty to play for!
