Racing 92 v Tigers Saturday 14th @ 20:45

Post by wormus »

So suprised not to see the match not posted yet!
Referee is Ben Whitehouse of Wales with Assistants Brickell & Morris (Wales).
I see Tigers have taken Manu out of the squad and put Charlie Thacker in but Tomas Leonardi is still in our squad?? which looking at it has nearly as many injured than active now. We just need the Wasps second half spirit for the full 80 minutes and a bonus point. :smt045 http://www.epcrugby.com/matchcentre/lei ... ?section=3

Will be interested to see Racing's team and how much effort that put in for that for first twenty minutes. Wondering if they'll maybe target this match as one they'll want to win, for pride and confidence as much as anything as I can't see them being interested in the last match at Munster.

Is anyone actually going? The lack of posts and twitter activity has led me to fear it will just be me and my girlfriend (in Tigers shirts) in the crowd!

Is the KO really 8.45pm UK time?! That's 9.45pm French time!

If we send a full team we can definitely win this, likewise Glasgow at home, although I think our chances of qualifying are remote!

The French just seem more amenable to late kick off times. Took me by surprise when I saw a football match over there. The whole round of fixtures kicked off at 21.00 local time.

Was quite nice actually. Time for dinner beforehand.

I'm not surprised at the lack of interest in this fixture.
Two teams at the bottom of the group.
Racing in particular have been very poor this year.
Tigers should win quite comfortably.

Well - that's at least 25 in the red, white and green! (News:Tigers will be in red, white & green for the match in Paris this weekend.)

Given Racing's current form even with or without Dan Carter we should expect a victory and hopefully a bonus point win.

Note that Racing fan did the decent thing: he decided to host the bereaved Munster supporters for free at his home in the rich Western suburbs of Paris. I dunno how 500 could fit into one room but I praise Racing fan for that, that is exactly what rugby is about in my opinion. :smt023

You Tigers fan will thus have more merits hating them all, club and fan, for they do deserve hatred, don't they? :smt003

Tough one to call.
Tigers' away form is poor - as is their record of wins in France over the years ( and I've seen two Tigers' wins France - the SF final and at Pau many moons ago!), and Racing have nothing to play for - except pride according to the Rugbyrama website.
I think Tigers could win, although I don't believe they'll get the bonus point they need to still be in with a slim chance of advancing to the Q finals.
The weather isn't likely to help as it's probably going to be blustery and showery evening - and cold!

That Kitto and Harrison are both on the bench tells its own story.

The back line that's starting looks much better for having Tait at 15 and Burns at 12.

Could do with a full 80 from Genge - worrying that there's still no Ayerza. No real loosehead option on the bench.

O'Connor injured...?

Strong first XV, but we do look bare on the bench in some positions.
