Re: Teams up v Saracens
Not great for those of us on the terrace but happy to see the rain. Tricky handling conditions likely to suit us more than them.
As I say every time against Saracens: we have to kick intelligently. All about territory today.

Wish I was there, alas Mrs G's virus that put paid to our Briz visit (less than 2 hours before KO)is still hanging on. Couldn't risk 4 hours in the rain for someone whose health has been up and down in the last decade, including a joust with cancer, and is currently suffering severe headaches and dizziness, as well as the stress of not being able to rely on one's health when out at any event or shopping.
Everybody who sees this - please put in a roar for me.

I too will be absent, but my brother will be there giving double support. I am always optimistic that Tigers will win at home, even against the current champions.

What a stupid decision not to scrum with Sarries against the wall

No comments on the match so far? Is it because we are playing well and not losing?
6-6 at half time. Good, physical 1st half from Tigers
More of the same for the next 40

Re: Teams up v Saracens
On the chase which Gooderstone carried over wasn't there blatant blocking by the other Sarre player? Not that the resultant penalty would have had a differnt outcome
Re: Teams up v Saracens
Not unusual for there to be few - if any - comments during a home game as most posters will be there.ellis9 wrote:No comments on the match so far? Is it because we are playing well and not losing?

The commitment is there today! Unfortunately the decision making isn't always as good.
On the plus side, there has been some good tackling and kick-chasing, although the kicking out of hand does not put pressure on Sarries defence, with one notable sample when YBY and Brady hustled Goode out of play. Better set piece and scrum.
Sarries playing a structured game, hard to break down.
2nd half starting.

Too many penalties given away, thank goodness Farrell is missing some easy ones!

The pundits are waxing lyrical about Sarries but I thought Tigers were pretty damn good - except for one dreadful pass (YBY) and one dreadful decision (OTY). Usual nonsense re Cocker's future will follow...
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

I would hope so. Defence looked a lot better.fleabane wrote:Win or lose, why can't we play like this every week?
We lost that game with the decision before half time. Most un-Tigers like decision to let the Sarries scrum off the hook and it cost us.
Burns was very good at 15. He looked like Murphy at times. Felt sorry for him nearly having his head removed on a couple of occasions that JP somehow missed.

Re: Teams up v Saracens
After this week and last week maybe Burns should do the kicking?
Re: Teams up v Saracens
I was pleased with our performance generally as I thought we would get destroyed. When did our scrum get good? I thought Sarries were suppose to have the best scrum. JP Doyle had a poor game and tried his best to hand the match to Sarries on a silver platter. Ben Youngs again proving the point that he is way better for England than Tigers.

I would still rather see Burns as our Fly-half AND doing the kicking - although I do appreciate that on today's performance he is the best fullback we have available!RagingBull wrote:After this week and last week maybe Burns should do the kicking?
Thought Burns was probably our best back today. Solid in defence, promising in attack and managed to stay calm in the face of some ferocious defence.
