Thanks Soggypatch and others for letting me know about Matt Smith, let's hope he recovers soon as we need quality reserves like him.

Yes I would like to see Croft play some part in Sunday's match if only from the bench The quality of the Tigers line out play against the Dragons stepped up a few gears because Crofty was there. I counted at least twice when he stole the opponents ball, there may have been more?

I think just knowing that standing at 2 is the bloke the Lions used for disrupting SH lineouts is a considerable ring-trembler for opposition throwers.

I didn't see the NGD game, how did Crofty play aside from the lineout?

As I say in an earlier post, I would like to see O'Connor and Evans given a go at 6 & 7 for this game. Quins will be without Robshaw and Clifford so we should aim to run them ragged.

Croft to appear after 55 - 60 mins..

With those two teams and a near capacity crowd at Welford Rd, I fully expect a 5 point victory!!

Evans is v unlucky not to be even in the 23.

Agree about Evans. If he's not got a niggle and not in need of a rest then surely these are the games he really ought to play in if we're to keep him? Slightly surprised Croft is starting - but thrilled he's fit enough to - and am also hoping for 5 whilst confident of 4 points!

I guess the logic is that O'Connor starts as there's no reason to rest him and he's our best openside.

Hamilton takes the bench spot as he covers more of the back row.

It is of course unfortunate for Evans, but this is a by-product for having strength in depth in the back row. He'll get more chances.

And don't forget we are on a five day turnround so expect a fair number of changes for Bristol Inc Evans.

Sadly with our injury list and missing players I do not share your 5 point optimism and I would be ecstatic with a win.

Can see how this is working - Bryant would be OK on the bench against Brizzle, Worth at FB, Tait on the bench ie largely rotation facilitated by good performances in the AWC.
