Off.
And replaced with a heavier duty option.
In the development squad we have
Owen
Raffell
Fred jnr
all of who I'm not sure of, Raffell gets a good report at 7 though.

Are you sure? Surprised Tigers signed him with a 3 year deal TBH.Lammy wrote:McCaffrey has another year left.RagingBull wrote:I just feel that we could see one of these

I'm not sure but I think/heard somewhere he is out of contract but will sign one more before going home to Oz.

I would not want to lose McCaffrey, he has been our most consistent player for the last 2 years.

Wasn't Jack Conan from Leinster linked, another big unit at 6/8.
6. Williams, Hamilton
7. O'Connor, Evans
8. Kalamafoni, McCafferey, Conan
Good balance there.

If Conan signs expect him to be first choice in short order. He's a real unit that knows his way to the try line. It'd be quite a coup if we got hold of him.FrontRowUnionMember wrote:Wasn't Jack Conan from Leinster linked, another big unit at 6/8.

I think we'll see McCaffery more at 6 or 7 if he stays for next season. Wouldn't surprise me if O'Connor left, he's been here two years so might be out of contract and hasn't really set the world on fire.

A huge no to LM at 6,too underpowered! Fitzy and Williams at 6,McCaffrey,Evans,BOC at 7 and Conan at 8. Hamilton and Kalafoni covering 6 and 8 and that's a serious back row!

Fitzgerald isn't a 6 IMO.
Prefer Croft as a 6.

Fitzgerald at 6 seems to mean dropped balls and missed tackles this season. Keep him in the second row and around the tight. McCaffery has never looked underpowered for us, against the right opposition I'd happily see him at 6. We want to reach the position where we can have quality options and rotate horses for courses style.Scott1 wrote:A huge no to LM at 6,too underpowered! For me when he's on form Croft at No.6 would be my first entry onto the Team sheet.

Even some of the blind referees might notice that we'd got 8 players on in the back row........Scott1 wrote:Fitzy and Williams at 6,McCaffrey,Evans,BOC at 7 and Conan at 8. Hamilton and Kalafoni covering 6 and 8 and that's a serious back row!
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.

Yes Whitecap you could go crazy just thinking about the different combinations but
4,5,6,7 and 8 must be selected by two criteria, current form and experience.

What's happening with Harry Thacker will have a say as well you'd imagine.RagingBull wrote:I just feel that we could see one of these

Off.
From the fans forum the other night it was made clear that Harry's issue isn't money but game time. He wants to know where his is in the pecking order before signing. From there it's two questions:
1. Do the coaches rate Harry highly enough at 2 and/or 7 to give him the game time he needs to keep developing? I hope that the answer is yes.
2. Which position could/will that be in? I'd say 7 is his best chance to fulfill his potential.
If he gets more game time at 7 then there likely wont be room for O'Connor as well as Evans. If he moves up the order at hooker then OTY or McGuigan wont be any happier than Harry is with less game time.
Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
That is just staggering, how many 22 year olds have played 50 times for a Premiership club, just typical of the silver spoon mentality who want the shirt given and not earned and another reason why Leicester continue to fall behind the best teams!ABClub wrote:What's happening with Harry Thacker will have a say as well you'd imagine.RagingBull wrote:I just feel that we could see one of these

Glynn was right when he mentioned the loss of form since January 2016 and I'm surprised that he hasn't quite worked out why given this type of scenario!

You omitted ability from that list (By that I mean physical prowess and skills)Noddy555 wrote:Yes Whitecap you could go crazy just thinking about the different combinations but

In recent times Tigers have put too much weight on experience, which is only of use if you have the ability and are on form.
