...and, if we don't sign a big, line-busting 8, a back row of Williams 6; Evans 7; and O'Connor 8 supported by McCaffrey, Hamilton and Croft isn't too shabby! (I'd still like one though!)

Fearns AND Morgan! Gloucester just being greedy now. May as well grab Manoa too
I know! It's like keeping Freddie and Owen; going for Ford; and looking to sign Farrell too! Ridiculous! Although... :smt047 ...nah...maybe not!

Leinster apparently looking at Dagg.

Now that is a player I wouldn't mind us getting.

Mermoz-why ?? A lot of dosh and a bit past it...
WHY cant we sign a couple of young superquick South Sea Islanders + a quality No 8 ???
Ford would be OK BUT Freddie is potentially as good...
Unless Freddie is going to 15 ??

I'm prob in the minority here but I would certainly be happy with signing Mermoz for the right price.

Genuinely can cover 12/13 experienced and a classy operator and has a good injury record a short term deal would allow us options IMO.

Would also mean Betham would be more avaiable for wing increasing our wing options.

As said for the right price though.

Mermoz will never be the right price imo....classy player but a little pricey I would think

It depends if we are against Quins and Glous and if he wants something different to France for 2 seasons.

We could compete with Quins and Glous as both in similar positions to us Centre wise.

Although if he goes to Quins would like to try and nab Sloan from them.

According To TRP Wasps were after Betham but he has rejected them to stay at Tigers.

I have seen quite a few people say they wouldn't want Tait for next season so wouldn't offer him a new contact.
I agree that he is on the decline and he shouldn't be first team choice, but I think we should offer him a contract.
Firstly he covers every position behind the fly half. His best performance have come at centre this season, a position we have lacked depth for a while. I'd imagine having a player of such experience around only benefits others around them on the training pitch. Although I agree that we shouldn't break the bank to keep him.

It makes more sense than signing some SH character, who does not know Tigers, and then gets injured for the rest of the season. We've done enough of that. :smt004

Totally agree - a one year contract shouldn't be too expensive and, although he may be 31 early next year, he can still do a good job for us and be an important cover player and influence on the younger players.
Hehehehehehehehe
