Hmmm. I'd heard that too. Richie Gray must have advised him. If true, it'll be a good move as Toulouse are in need of bolstering their back row following the departure of King Louis and the imminent departure of Thierry Dusautoir (unofficially to Tigers!)

No Tom I didn't get it wrong at the time I spoke to my French friend (not Phillipe Sella) Mermoz had still to make up his mind and it seems he did this after Wednesday of last week which was the time I spoke to his contact,

With the press reporting over 6 weeks ago he was going to Newcastle next season
