IF Cockers were to go...
... Alan Solomon or Jake White anyone
Both free next season
Both free next season
Re: IF Cockers were to go...
Solomon definitely no, Jake White almost guarantee's success but at the cost of your teams identity and home grown players so I'd probably avoid him too

I never answer hypothetical questions - but if I did, I would say 'no' to both.
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

Only hypothetically. In reality, I'm happy with our incumbent DoR!Doghashadhisday wrote:But, but , but you just did answer.strawclearer wrote:I never answer hypothetical questions - but if I did, I would say 'no' to both.
(Damn - didn't expect anyone to spot that!)

Re: IF Cockers were to go...
No reason to ask the question as Cockers ain't going anywhere and we don't need a change of identity.

I got a kicking on this question two seasons ago for suggesting Dai Young....
Re: IF Cockers were to go...
I don't see any reason why Cockers would leave but if it happened then Rob Baxter has the right club ethos. Couldn't see him leaving the Chiefs though
I'm not cynical just experienced
Re: IF Cockers were to go...
Its just naïve to think that just because a DoR is still under contract and may have a history with a club, that he wouldn't leave prematurely.

Re: IF Cockers were to go...
Hopefully Cockers won't be going anywhere soon but my choice for his replacement is Rob Baxter.
Re: IF Cockers were to go...
If Baxter came to Tigers, do you think he'd be good enough to bring the AP's top try scorer last year back with him?chewbacca wrote:I don't see any reason why Cockers would leave but if it happened then Rob Baxter has the right club ethos. Couldn't see him leaving the Chiefs though

For clarity, you mean a 36 year old Thomas Waldrom...?Roly wrote:If Baxter came to Tigers, do you think he'd be good enough to bring the AP's top try scorer last year back with him?chewbacca wrote:I don't see any reason why Cockers would leave but if it happened then Rob Baxter has the right club ethos. Cagey - you are naughty!
I thought about starting a thread such as this when I was going thorugh my 'we're all doomed' phase after the Wasps game, when I doubted the ability of Cockers & Maug to lead us to any kind of success this year. I didn't because I thought I might get shot down!
Sadly, I don't really know who is available or who might be suitable, I'm just not that knowledgeable. I'm not sure I'd want either of the Dean's (Ryan or Richards) and someone from the Southern Hemisphere feels like a good plan but maybe not.
In anycase, whilst I am in no immediate rush to swap our dynamic duo out, it does feel like quite an interesting academic exercise to consider who we might want if the worst should come to the worst.

That's right - the AP's top try scorer last year.Iain wrote:For clarity, you mean a 36 year old Thomas Waldrom...?Roly wrote:If Baxter came to Tigers, do you think he'd be good enough to bring the AP's top try scorer last year back with him?chewbacca wrote:I don't see any reason why Cockers would leave but if it happened then Rob Baxter has the right club ethos. Apparently, he was only top try scorer by virtue of the fact that he's a bit of a 'goal hanger' you know. No real talent of course....
Anyway, my comments may or may not be tongue in cheek.

Re: IF Cockers were to go...
I for one am shocked at you saying anything tongue in cheek
The whole conversation is somewhat moot as Cockerill will be going nowhere. I'm quite confident of that.
