Exeter are doing a job on Bristol tonight. They are doing nothing fancy, playing the percentages and playing with the ball in the right areas.
This is what we used to do to teams. I know it's Bristol who are the opposition but what Exeter are doing is so affective.
Remind me again why we are trying to play differently to this?

It's our own fault, we let them have Waldrom, Parling and Salvi

No, no. When we played like that it was "boring". Now it's "Exeter's POWER GAME".
We should have just came up with some catchy phrase that all of the commentators would wax lyrically over instead!

Yes, some may find it boring but they've just scored 41 points and picked up a bonus point win. Is that not what the idea of the game is, to win? It's not to entertain, it's to win.

And they should have had many more points, squandering several opportunities in the second half.

. . . . . . yes, the BT commentary team talked about Exeter still having a lot to work on despite their margin of victory.Bowden Tiger wrote:And they should have had many more points, squandering several opportunities in the second half.
I thought Bristol showed signs of promise. I hope they stay up. Their games against Worcester and Falcons will be crucial.

It could be a hugely exciting end to the season at the bottom - may rival the top of the table for suspense!Maidman wrote: I thought Bristol showed signs of promise. I hope they stay up. Their games against Worcester and Falcons will be crucial.
Happy days clearing straw from the pitch before the Baa-Baas games! KBO

I don't think Tigers need to specifically go out to play expansively. First and foremost in any rugby game win the forward battle, win the collisions, earn the right to go wide.
BUT when you do, make sure you have the players with the skill set to execute properly! Not sure we have at present.

I assumed you meant Bristol's defence.
