That looks to be a strong A side.
Great to see Mulipola, Fraser, and Rizzo getting more game time; and as has been mentioned, interesting that Thacker is starting at 7.

Bench looks a tad light on forwards, with only one academy lad covering lock/back row.

Good luck to them and let's hope that one or two look to push for first team slots.

Given our lack of a proper 8 what are we waiting for with regard to young Fred? Manu didn't have any more experience when he went in the first team :smt017

Comparing apples to oranges.

Also the physicality in the back row @ AP level huge way from A league level. the Backs it is easier to make the transition.

Manu was a big back @ 19 even for senior rugby.
Fred whilst big isn't big compared to the players he will be up against in the AP, and is still very raw IMO. Give him time to develop.

It is not that interesting that Harry Thacker is at 7. If Will Evans hadn't been with the senior squad at Newcastle he would of played there. Also in our squad we have a lot of senior front row players that need game time. Even though we now use Bateman as a prop we can play him at hooker and give oppertunity to another prop, in this case Balmain and Betts off the bench. This is about giving the senior squad more game time and keeping them fit and ready.
