I know he's not in the team. Not read why. Maybe he has been dropped?murphy15 wrote:...aaaaaaaaaaaaaand he's injured again.

When I read this at my desk just now I thought it worth posting

Simply because Roly who gets a lot of stick (much of it deserved ) has been proven right it seems with the Gilmores groin sentiments..
The facts remain we have a centre who has just re-signed for big big money and it seems he is not over his injury problems despite having a huge amount of time out of the game...will he ever be back to the same level...I fear not

Re: Emasculated Manu
Have to agree JFJ which as I keep saying leaves us in a very poor position in the centres, when compared to the other top clubs.JackFlashJonny wrote:When I read this at my desk just now I thought it worth posting

Re: Emasculated Manu
If we look at our current centre options it is nothing short of a joke..
Matt Smith
Betham- Not really a centre at all
Williams- Not a genuine centre
Roberts- Not proven
Catchpole- Not proven
Manu- Injury prone
JPP- Handy at 13 but better used aerially on the wing
Tait- Now a 15
If we compare these vital 12/13 positions to our options for the back three the change in class is massive
Brady, JPP, Veainu, Thompstone, Betham and Tait
What is the point of having a classy back three if the two players inside them can't make the most of them?
I know Toomua will change this a lot but we could already be out of the running for a top two before he arrives..I am not meaning to be overly negative I just can't believe we haven't strengthened this area at all bar Toomua

I cannot believe it wasn't addressed after last season either especially with the JDV risk that failed massively.....kelmat wrote:Totally agree, its been obvious for a while now!JackFlashJonny wrote:If we look at our current centre options it is nothing short of a joke..

As time goes on and the injuries mount up can Manu really be the same player he was? I hope so but I am really starting to question if he can and it seems as usual we have a whole lot pinned on him being the Manu of a few years ago..

Re: Emasculated Manu
Manu's groin injury is the same one that kept Tait out for 2 years
Re: Emasculated Manu
His footballing equivalent is Jack Wilshire.
Re: Emasculated Manu
Gilmore's groin is a catch all - actually Manu has an inflamed pubic bone that is very hard to diagnose and very hard to treat. It basically has to settle down to zero and then be built up. It is a worry that it has come back (symptoms are stiffness and soreness)and will need constant managing - it is a worryJackFlashJonny wrote:When I read this at my desk just now I thought it worth posting

I spoke to Dave.......he said No Thanks.
Re: Emasculated Manu
But it is true, he has a condition called 'Gilmore's Groin'.Bunchy wrote:Roly - that's not true - his recent long lay off was due to his pubic bone becoming inflamed. It has settled down now, but is very hard to diagnose....
