That's a big statement of intent.
He signed a new deal at Bath in January so Wasps must be splashing the cash.

Yep Bath decided that Eastmond new deal was to much for what they he brings and wanted to give him less.

Would be interested to know how stable their bond issue was currently. They are whacking out cash like there is no cap.

This probably means their first choice back line will be

9: Simpson
10: Cipriani
11: Halai
12: Eastmund
13: Daly
14: Wade
15: Beale

Pretty :censored: good.

... and probably less flaky without the likes of Beale?

Beale won't be fit by then and my guess is that Toomua will still be playing for Wallabies then too.

Perhaps he had a get out clause in his contract, such as 'If Ford leaves, then the contract is void'.
It will make Wasps stronger, but importantly, it makes Bath much weaker. They struggled last year, so unless they recruit well.............

Eastmond had agreed a deal in principle with Bath. After Ford left it was decided that Eastmond wasn't what they wanted in the centres and so they backed out of the agreement.

Rumours were he was off to Sale but apparently not. Wasps have Leiua and the possible return of Siale Piatau (after the Japan season) to add some muscle to their midfield as well.

They've obviously released quite a few players but they must be right against the cap now.

Interesting to look where Bath have been recruiting, with Faletau, Charteris, Stooke, van Veuran and Walker joining the forwards. So far only Fotulli'i coming into the backs.

There is of course time for recruitment, but it seems that they may think their failings have been up front! Possibly an change of approach from Ford to Booth, and possibly Blackadder!

Wasps for Champions next season? Of course it will be Tigers, but that was a shrewd signing. I wonder if we knew if he would be available?
