Fifita? No thanks. Will be our Burgess moment.
He doesn't want to join Tigers, he just wants out of Aus.

I seriously don't think Tigers would just sign someone without a 3 month trial period. If he's coming and he's good, fine. If it's just a punt, then he gets to strut his stuff or not, :smt039
It's no point in being an expert before the act.

Agreed. If he's serious he'd accept a trial just as several successful Tigers have done before him.

We have excellent depth at lock and he's too good to be a squad player. He ought to leave and go and be a starter elsewhere, maybe even as their captain, in which case.
But if 'rotation' means anything, surely 4 top class locks is a must - indeed, a minimum. Agree that, right now, Ed comes 4th after Barrow, Fitz and Kitch but he's still essential imho.
Diagree. I'd have Slater first every time. Only his injuries hold him back.

Same but - has anyone heard anything re. Scott Higginbotham?
My question answered - signed for Queensland Reds.

Of course he would. What top rugby player wouldn't prostrate himself at the feet of the omniscient Cockers.

So, when Saracens lose Hargreaves they go out and get Etzebeth, one of the world's best, to cover (probably).
Tigers have been down an 8 since the start of the season, and have seemingly still not managed to find the right player. Now their most destructive back row player is out for a big chunk of the season. If Tigers are serious about fighting on all fronts, then the need for some quality reinforcement in the back row has now become urgent imo.
I know the Club does not have the multi million rand backing that Sarries has,but is cash the issue? Can we just not attract the right players? Or is it both?

Tigers is run as a business. Sarries is a rich man's (well men's) play thing. We have already signed two big name internationals in the summer and installed a new pitch as well as purchasing the car park off the council. We're not a bottomless pit of cash. The reality is we might need to get a bargain or get lucky as most players are currently under contract.

'The reality is we might need to get a bargain or get lucky as most players are currently under contract.'

Do you think that was the thought when Fonua was let go?

Hey, maybe that was also the thought process when the malfunctioning defence coach was ousted?

Tomas Leonardi has been registered in place of Rizzo. Argentinian back row, playing for the Sunwolves this season. Looks like a handful. I wonder how much influence Marcus and/or Pablo had on this signing?

Our current and previous Argentinian players have been good for us I look forward to watching Tomas continue that tradition
