H Cup Final Tigers v SF May 19th 2001 - Where are they now?
I've just seen a clip of that great game - one of the best games I've ever been to. This was the Tigers' squad that day, but where are they now?
15 Tim Stimpson
14 Geordan Murphy
13 Leon Lloyd
12 Pat Howard
11 Winston Stanley
10 Andy Goode
9 Austin Healey
8 Will Johnson
7 Neil Back
6 Martin Corry
5 Ben Kay
4 Martin Johnson
3 Darren Garforth
2 Dorian West
1 Graham Rowntree
Bench
Perry Freshwater
Richard Cockerill
Ricky Nebbett
Paul Gustard
Lewis Moody
Jamie Hamilton
Glenn Gelderbloom
Some we see regularly either at Tigers or on the box, and others not at all.
So, where are they?

Leon Lloyd filled his car up behind me in a petrol station in Corby last week. I guess he's up to a bit more than that.
According to their Dad, Martin Johnson is just enjoying being himself for a while (basially not doing very much!) and Will is living in the South of France.
Pat Howard had a role with Australian cricket, bizarrely.
Geordan of course coaches with us.
Stimmo is involved in some kind of corporate hospitality and was at Lady Bay for the semi final.
Goodey, as we know has just retired and works for BT Sport.
Austin, as we know, works for BT.
Neil Back just brought a book out.
Cozzer lives around Market Harborough as I've seen him take his son to Harborough RFC.
Ben Kay works for BT.
Garforth I have no idea about.
Dorian West coaches for some backwater side in an urban barnacle hidden off the A43.
Graham Rowntree is off to Quins to coach.
Perry Freshwater coaches a women's side I think?
Cockers keeps himself busy somewhow.
No idea on Nebbett.
Gustard is an England coach.
Moody works for BT.
Jamie Hamilton last heard of was coaching in New Zealand.
Glenn Gelderbloom is notable for being the best player on the pitch at Louis Deacon's testimonial match.

Darren Garforth is still running the family business. See http://www.gscaff.co.uk/
Re: H Cup Final Tigers v SF May 19th 2001 - Where are they n
Didn't Darren Garforth return to the family scaffolding business and 'do something' at Nuneaton RFC? Also I thought Leon Lloyd had a share in a property development company and recently heard he does motivational speaking, but not too sure about that.
Opportunities always look bigger going than coming.
Re: H Cup Final Tigers v SF May 19th 2001 - Where are they n
He does, that's been reasonably well documented and he's also released a book to that effect. I'm assuming he also lives in Harborough simply because I've seen him around the town.GS wrote: Leon Lloyd had a share in a property development company and recently heard he does motivational speaking, but not too sure about that.

According to Wkipedia:
Winston Ulysses Stanley (born July 14, 1974 in Victoria, British Columbia) is a Canadian rugby union footballer. He played wing for University of British Columbia, James Bay Athletic Association and Vancouver Kats in Canada before later moving to English club Leicester Tigers.
He earned 66 caps for Canada. He made his debut on May 21, 1994 against the United States. He played at the 1995 Rugby World Cup finals and the 2003 Rugby World Cup finals.
Stanley was part of the Leicester Tigers team that won the Heineken Cup, Zurich Premiership, and the Championship play-off in 2001. Stanley started the victorious 2001 Heineken Cup Final for Leicester.[1]
He retired from international rugby following the 2003 Rugby World Cup. In 2004 he was named as player/coach for the Velox Valhallians club in Victoria.
Since then, he has coached Edmonton Gold in the Rugby Canada Super League and the Vancouver Island Crimson Tide Under-20 men's squad. For the 2013-14 rugby season, he was a coach with the University of Victoria Vikes team. He has since worked in numerous school coaching rugby all around Victoria and Canada.
He is currently Director of Rugby at Glenlyon Norfolk School in Victoria. In 2014 he returned to Velox and was named head coach for the Velox Valhallians.
Although it seems there is a samoan pretender!!

Still actually playing? That's a surprise. I was working on the assumption that Goodey was the last of that squad to retire.h's dad wrote:Ricky Nebbett propping for Esher in National 1 last season.

Esher now have him as a coach although wikipedia (sorry) has him as a squad player for the 15/16 season. Don't know if he actually took to the field during the season, as a prop at 38 it's not inconceivable.Iain wrote:Still actually playing? That's a surprise. Easy mistake to make
He was something of an unsung hero for a few years. Good understudy, turned his career for the better very well with us.
