The final weekend

Post by physiodan »

So.... The final weekend has arrived and it is fair to say that there is still a lot to play for in the league, especially that final ECC slot.

Predictions for this weekend.

Bath (2) vs Leicester (4): Bath fighting for pride and Tigers with a mathematical chance of 2nd still on the card.
Tigers to win
Bath LBP+TBP

Gloucester (4) Vs Northampton(1): Gloucester finding a bit of late form and Saints needing to win to guarantee ECC
Gloucester win
Saints LBP

Harlequins (4) Vs Exeter (1): Quins need to win to stand a chance in Europe next season although there is still the Challenge Cup next week.
Quins Win
Exeter LBP

Newcastle (0) Vs Sale (5): Sale require a win to stand a chance for a ECC place and probable have the "easiest" fixture
Sale Win TBP

Wasps (5) vs London Irish (1): Wasps have the chance after last weeks loss to make amends and have a game against the relegated team. With this however, I think Irish will run everything to try and cause an upset. too little too late.
Wasps Win TBP
Irish TBP

Worcester (4) Vs Saracens (1): A nothing game. Worcester safe and playing for pride and Sarries already sealed top spot (rest players with next week in mind).
Worcester Win
Sarries LBP

Final standings
Saracens 76
Wasps 72
Exeter 70
Leicester 68
Harlequins 59
Sale 59

Northampton 57
Gloucester 53
Bath 44
Worcester 39
Newcastle 26
London Irish 21

In the same order you have the games I reckon:

4-0
1-4
0-4
0-5
5-0
0-5

Tend to go with Ellis9 where you two differ.

Surely if we win and Bath were to get a losing TBP, we're likely to also get a TBP and therefore get the maximum 5? I can't see us just kicking our way to victory......

Not necessarily. Bath could score 4 unconverted tries getting 20 points and we score 3 converted tries getting 21 therefore we would win 21-20, get 4 match points and Bath 2.

Of course, but that is unlikely, no?

With the best will in the world a home semi final chance is negliable
can anyone see Wasps losing at home to London Irish or the Chiefs failing to win at the stoop, although Quins do have the incentive of European Rugby to aim for.
