Couple of former Tigers Academy lads got on the scoresheet as well - Will Hurrell crossing for Doncaster and Charlie Clare going over with a consolation try for Bedford.

Great win for Donny by the looks of things. Looking good for a Bristol v Donny final.

Would be nice to see a new team in the Premiership and would be equally amusing to see Bristol's cash flashing fall on its face again.

If Bedford win the play-offs, LI will not be relegated.

True, but having been heavily beaten in the first leg by Bristol that's not looking in the least bit likely.

Its only 10000/1, Leicester City won with only half those odds.... :smt040

Is it actually 10,000/1? I'd have a quid on that if so!!

You tease :smt019

Any which way, it's highly unlikely that the whole Bedford winning and saving London Irish thing is going to be relevant now.

The whole ground being up to code thing is rubbish anyway - Cornish Pirates were denied their right a while ago but its a travesty when you compare stadia like that to The Rec.

In fairness, I don't know what the criteria are to be able to make a judgement.

It's a shame, as Premiership rugby has been played at Goldington Road in the past.

In the same way Welford Road wasn't up to standard for World Cup rugby. It's all a load of spheroids.

But apparently, Kingsholm was....

Spheroids is way too mild a term.

Well thankfully Bristol have a healthy lead going into the second leg. I just hope they thrash Doncaster who they will probably be facing in the two legs of the final. It is a travesty of the system that for the past two years they have finished the regular season streets ahead of their nearest rivals to have to undergo the agony of a play off system.
Either the championship play offs should be scrapped or extended to a 2up 2 down system where the champions are automatically promoted and the next 3 teams plus the 11th placed team in the Aviva are involved in the play offs. This comes from someone who is no lover of West country teams.

Please don't set me off on wanting the pay-offs scrapped.
