Re: Unpatriotic..............
Don't like Sarries and never had. Even before the new regime come to that.
If they break the salary cap then how isn't it spotted? I thought all clubs were independently audited?

Hambo :- He was with England when he was injured, but he was a Tigers player, our player. He is still our player.”

Re: Unpatriotic..............
Haven't liked Sarries for yonks. Probably down to Nigel Wray and the general "tone" of club announcements, pronouncements and whinges since he took over. If anything it has got worse since the Saffa involvement. As I've said elsewhere, I never watch them except if they lose to Tigers and I've recorded it. While I'm no fan of Racing (probably as a result of ZSF's posts), the only good Sarries team is one that loses. I even "support" (I use the term loosely) Wasps, Bath and Saints in preference to Sarries.
Re: Unpatriotic..............
Just for the record, when I visited Sarries several times in the 1980s as an away supporter or as a neutral, I found it unpretentious and very friendly. Much better then the attitude you encountered at Quins at the time. That said it may predate the arrival of Nigel Wray.rocktop51 wrote:Don't like Sarries and never had. Re: Unpatriotic..............
Do you really think Saracens are breaching tte salary cap??
If they were something would have been done about it!
Saracens are in the same boat as Tigers were a few years ago...Everyone hating them because they are doing so well.
As for Racing they have Dan Carter, the majority of the team are french players

Apart from:champanzie wrote:As for Racing they have Dan Carter, the majority of the team are french players
(Starting XV against us)
Ben Tameifuna - New Zealand
Luke Charteris - Wales
Francois Van Der Merwe - South Africa
Chris Masoe - New Zealand
Juan Imhoff - Argentina
Johan Goosen - South Africa
Dan Carter - New Zealand (You mentioned him.....)
Joe Rokocoko - New Zealand
So 8 out of 15, a French majority?
(Bench against us)
Khatchik Vartanov - Russia
Manuel Carizza - Argentina
Mike Phillips - Wales
Antonie Claassen - South Africa
50/50 Split French/Foreign.
So 12 of the 23 were non-French, a majority of French players
There are other non-French in the squad:
Castro - Italy
Juandre Kruger - South Africa
Casey Laulala - New Zealand.
Ross Filipo - New Zealand
Sean Robinson - New Zealand
Granted, they do also have quite a few French players, about 25 on the books according to their squad (of 42) page. I hope my research stands up to scrutiny, it was a bit rushed.

A French majority.

Re: Unpatriotic..............
Yes indeed. I think they went to Enfield after that, and suddenly it was all pants music and a man (?) in a sonic the hedgehog suit. The signs were not promising, and Watford became a dump too far, with that awful mock Bavarian music after they'd had a team bonding trip to the oktober fest. As such, I have never had the courage to go to their new plastic pitch.tigercaspian wrote:Weren't they still on Chase Side in Southgate at the time?

It's stretching things a bit far to describe Wales as 'overseas' imho! Another country? Now maybe....

I didn't want to look at the non-English players in our team/Squad, I'm aware we have them.champanzie wrote:

Neither of those points relate directly to your original point IMO, the one that I addressed......

I will be there wearing an old, traditional Tigers shirt, with a pale blue and white scarf.
