Tigers 2016/2017 Dream Team
Yes its me Andy, i've hung my stick mitts up for the Falcons and i've taken up writing on the Tigers forum.
Thought i'd start out with a Tigers dream team for next season:
1.Logovi'i Mulipola
2.Tom Youngs
3.Dan Cole
4.Dom Barrow
5.Mike Williams
6.Mike Fitzgerald
7.Brendan O'connor (In future Will Evans, he showed great potential against Gloucester)
8.Opeti Fonua (watch him on youtube demolish Wilko playing for Bayonne)
9.Ben Youngs (Would like to see Harrision start a few games)
10.Freddie Burns
11.Peter Betham
12.Manu Tuilagi
13.Matt Toomua
14.JP Peterson
15.Telusa Veainu
Comments welcome

No Ayerza
Anyway welcome to the forum Andy - this is where it really all happens, the stuff on the pitch is just incidental.

Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.
Re: Tigers 2016/2017 Dream Team
Its not all about the starting 15 its about the starting 22
You need quality off the bench

Stick to eating Pies Goodey. Ayerza different class to Logo, Williams and Fitz need to be swapped, as do Manu and Toomua. Number 8 Fonua needs to show more to his game than bosh, and at the moment McCaffrey has earned that starting spot..
Smalldell there's 23 in the match day squad though totally agree about it being a 23 man game

Re: Tigers 2016/2017 Dream Team
I would go for
1.Ayerza
2.Youngs
3.Cole
4.Barrow
5.Slater
6.Williams
7.O'connor
8.McCaffrey
9.Youngs
10.Burns
11.Betham
12.Toomua
13.Tuilagi
14.JP Peterson
15.Veainu
With an a loaded bench of
Mulipola
Thacker
Balmain (can not judge Pat Cilliers yet)
Fitzgerald
Croft
Harrison
Williams
Thompstone
However what is really exciting is the depth the team will have (assuming everyone stays relatively injury free). Player rotation will be key, which will hopefully mean that we will be fully competitive across all competitions next year.

Re: Tigers 2016/2017 Dream Team
It's crazy when you think of the quality that we are leaving out - Kitch, Slater, McCaffrey, Ayerza, Tait, Croft. We are going to have a seriously good squad next year :)AndyGoode wrote:Yes its me Andy, i've hung my stick mitts up for the Falcons and i've taken up writing on the Tigers forum.

I do wonder about 12 and 13. I thought Toomua was more of a 12 and Manu more of a 13. I know England want Manu playing more at 12 hence why he has played there more this year but I would be interested to know what everyone else thinks will happen here for Tigers.
Re: Tigers 2016/2017 Dream Team
Toomua is a 12/10 whereas Manu is a 13/12. Personally I don't think you should play Toomua at 13 though in the modern game players pop up everywhere

I like that team but think you should find a way to fit Thacker into it

Re: Tigers 2016/2017 Dream Team
I think they'll switch about during the game depending on the play and whether they're attacking or defending; running or kicking. Can you imagine facing 2 receivers in Burns and Toomua (occasionally Tuilagi) and 2 interchangeable centres in Toomua and Tuilagi - not to mention JPP, Veainu and Betham running lines! Bring it on!Will S wrote:

ps Please substitute Thacker for any of the above!

He's not The Messiah, he's a very naughty boy !!
Re: Tigers 2016/2017 Dream Team
From what I've seen of Toomua, the opposition centres might be just as worried about facing him and Manu when they have the ball, some of the hits coming in the midfield next season could be brutal

Andy, we're you secretly hoping that someone would fantasize and put you in the 10 shirt?
