The European Weekend Unfolds......

Post by jgriffin »

And so far....

Sale finally lose at home to Montpellier....ref was Lacey and according to Diamond, Montpellier had the benefit of his largesse at the breakdown.

Gloucester lose at home to .....Newport Gwent Dragons! Awful result but bet Boris was chuffed!

Waldrom is a luxury player at the time we didn't have the back row to support that luxury.

He had a :censored: last year with us. Playing well now dosnt mean he would have been playing well with us now, (judging by the fact Mauger seems to favour a all rounder 8 it likely he wouldn't be getting much game time now either).

I don't get why people can't just let it go.

It's not like he was a Lewington or Ford a young Academy product with loads of potential and had showed it in the games played.

Raging Bull please don't make hypothetical excuses, our defensive selection policy of picking someone who was supposed to be good at the base of the scrum ahead of him, and who once kicked a penalty for us, sorely peed him off and lack of game time was a contributory factor.

And your being just as hypothetical.

Waldrom last season was poor, and nothing to say he would be playing like he is now for us. He didn't stamp any authority when he did the play.

Him and Crane both offered reduced contracts crane took it Waldrom didn't.

And Exe fans (including one brother, one sister, one nephew and a good mate)all say he scores OK, but anyone could do it as the tactic is that the openings are made and/or he is driven over by one or more other players. Made to look better than he is by a hardworking set of forwards. I don't buy this carp 'regret', much rather have BOC or Lochy, superior rugby players.

Edit:18-24 as Wasps try to run the legs off Exe - just might work!

I can't believe that anyone seriously believes Crane is a better player than Waldrom.

If TTTE had a poorish last season for us there is only one reason for that, Cockers didn't like him, they clashed, and Crane is obviously better at washing cars!! :smt002

Crane bashing really works it way into almost every thread doesn't it, and for those who say "he only kicked one kick whats all the fuss about" I'll leave these two clips that show his interventions at key points in key games

The winning score vs LI in the 09 final

His carry in the 08 Semi final that set up Goode's drop goal

Absolute nonsense the way people rewrite history on this forum is unbelievable. Thomas Waldrom upset Richard Cockerill by declaring his availability and desire to play for England. Cockerill never got over it and Waldrom was out of favour from then on.

Yet again, a thread becomes a 'discussion' about Thomas Waldrom's exit from the Tigers and, as ever, conspiracy theories abound!

Maybe it's time to accept that, whatever his merits as a player, TTTE is part of our history but not part of our destiny? Whatever happened between him and Tigers, he saw no good reason to stay - and that was a good reason to go. Time to move on.

KJP those clips are from 2008 and 9, we are currently in 2016, Waldon left end 2015, don't compare yesteryear with today.
